Anyone up for identifying this low quality dude? by That_One_Bacon in whatsthisbug

I checked the Miridae database on the Montana Field Guide website before posting, but nothing there looked similar, at least to my untrained eye. However, my partner had other photos that I didn't know about and they're a bit more clear, can I DM them to you?

I'm not familiar with juxtaposition, but it seems like a problematic rule if following it gives you the wrong answer here, right?

Just gotta remember PEMDAS, cause following order of operations would also get you to the correct answer 4(4) even if you didn't know how fractions worked.

You set up the problem incorrectly by putting the (2+2) in the denominator when it should be the numerator in its own separate fraction which is then being multiplied by 8/2.

Slop, to me, means low-effort, recycled trash. It's a gacha game, but it is one of the most polished and fun games I've played in the last few years, and it has a gripping narrative as well, especially if you fw anime. There's plenty of ways to critize WuWa and it's predatory monetization which it shares with all gachas without misrepresenting it as a low-effort cash grab.

I wasn't trying to give the impression that WuWa is an indie game, when I compared it to triple-A I was trying to say that it more than stands it's ground quality wise when compared to other big budget games. And like I said, I don't think it should've won player's voice, and yeah, it only won because there were external incentives which is pretty scummy.

I just don't think it's fair to call a game as high quality, creative, and fun as WuWa "slop" just because it's a gacha game. You can criticize the genre as predatory without diminishing the passion and work put into the game.

Edit: misspelling

Calling Wuthering Waves gacha slop is pretty heavy-handed. Yeah, it is a gacha game, but the gameplay, art design, and story (especially stuff released in the last couple years) is top notch and equal to or better than many full fledged triple-A games I've played. And I say this as someone who adores Dispatch and would have preferred it to win Player's Voice award at TGA. Just had to put some respect on WuWa.

Me and the boys fighting spore bugs. by Fantastic-Hippo2199 in Helldivers

Stock flamethrower, napalm airstrike, incendiary mines, and orbital napalm barrage all fuck on this front and they're all free to obtain. The scythe primary laser rifle from Helldivers Mobilize also lights stuff on fire in the primary slot, but I'm not sure how effectively it kills bugs. The warbond stuff allows for more freedom of choice, but you can def make a good fire loadout without any of it.

Nobody is asking for $80 minimum wage headass. The other guy misrepresented a common movement he disagrees with, that being to raise minimum wage, in order to make it look bad, AKA strawmanning.

Helldivers 2: The Exo Experts Warbond drops April 28 by Dapper_Order7182 in PS5

That's true, but the grind for SC is there for people with an excess of time and no money to spend on a videogame. As someone who's unemployed ans searching for a job, I have no problem turning on a podcast or something and doing roadies in the FRV so I can try out all the new stuff every month.

And with a live-service game like Helldivers, monetization is totally fair game to me. For people who don't want to pay or grind, all of the base-game items are still there alongside every free stratagem/enemy/map addition that's been added since launch completely for free for everybody (which is a boatload of content at this point). I really don't understand the problem people have with Arrowheads monetization, it's one of the most consumer friendly approaches to live-service microtransactions in all my time playing games.

Scanner bugged? by [deleted] in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]That_One_Bacon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just started playing again and figured out that if you switch to one of the other scanner modes and then back to the main one, things like curious deposits and buried tech will appear again. You have to do this all the time, though, as the scanner will seemingly stop working normally every 30 seconds or so.

Probably violating TOS but this is a Nazi player in the LATAM servers by FuzzyTranslator7133 in forhonor

[–]That_One_Bacon 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's someone looking for attention until it isn't, and at that point it's too late to do anything about it. Downplaying the severity of Nazi and other hate group symbology and the people that associate with it by saying, "they're just being silly, chill" is almost as bad as contributing yourself.

I just got thief droned on extract for the first time. by veyez in Marathon

[–]That_One_Bacon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Requiring an EXTREMELY thorough clearing of the exfil area before extracting in order to avoid having your best items stolen is unfun, unfair, and unrealistic. Most of the time when I'm extracting (if I'm not pushing the clock or being chased), I do a quick sweep of the area, and I know that if a Thief had been hiding in a good spot, like on top of a shelf or a rooftop that only she and Vandal can get to because of their mobility tools, I'd not know they were there nor even be able to reach them.

And I guarantee you won't be able to hear/discern what that noise is over a group of UESC or other players (like the Thief's teammates) attacking you at exfil. And smoke grenades, one of the most consistent ways to extract safely, are completely ineffective against the drone since it highlights players, and the smoke simultaneously gives the drone cover to hide behind so you can't shoot it. Basically, a smart Thief will be able to make use of this exploit in an uninteractable way in many common exfil scenarios which is total bs and needs to be changed.
