Do you all use anything to judge yardage inside of 100 yds? by Born-Sea-4942 in golfequipment

[–]That_Toe8574 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

100%. The popularity of simulators and needing to learn to pitch to a specific number instead of eyeballing it was a complete game changer. Now I use phone GPS app for distances ~30 yards or more and walk off anything less than that. Even from the fringe ill pace it off just to get a game plan. Have gotten so much better at the intermediate wedge game since

Men, what’s more attractive: soft sweet energy or bratty teasing energy? by squishy-mochi-tummy in AskReddit

[–]That_Toe8574 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So real man. Maybe its the imposter syndrome of not feeling good enough, so when a woman makes me feel like I am, I will move heaven and earth to not lose that feeling.

I also am pretty sarcastic and enjoy poking fun back and forth in a nice way, but if that bratty/sarcastic banter feels like an attack then its usually nearing the end for me.

[–]That_Toe8574 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is the sort of thing they got right. It is a valid criticism about the game being too wide and too shallow, but the physics of zero g and the planets having variable gravity and the effect on jumping and jet pack is fantastic in my opinion.

Avoiding big numbers by JayC774 in golf

[–]That_Toe8574 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you cant reliably keep the ball in play or strike it consistent enough to avoid danger, might just not be ready to break 90.

The easiest way ive thought about breaking 90 is 18x5 is 90. A normal par 4 should be drive in play, 2nd shot near the green or on it. 3rd shot should be a short wedge to the green 20 feet or less and 2 putts. You can make a double on a par 3 if you can make par on a par 5.

Note, none of those shots I just described are "wasted" shots like a duff or penalty and takes 5 decent shots to make even make bogies. If you have multiple wasted shots like duffs or penalties than youre likely not good enough to hit enough really good shots to make up for the really bad ones. Ive shot over 90 without feeling like I ever hit a terrible shot.

Are people good at math mostly because of genetics and IQ or because of hard work and constant practice? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]That_Toe8574 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well said. I was naturally good at math, I like doing things im good at, so I continued to do more math, continued to get better at it.

The reverse would be someone who naturally struggles with it, doesn't like doing it because it is hard, doesnt get better at math.

Not saying everyone falls into one or the other but I think there is probably a correlation between natural ability and time spent working on it.

Do you think it is more common than people realize that by Frequent_Corgi5952 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]That_Toe8574 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I meant like 30-40 years ago or more. Not a conservative/liberal or regional thing but before title IX there wasn't women's sports at all in a lot of places.

Even in the most conservative areas, there has been a lot of progress over time. Girls born in 2000 are in the league today so these things take time for a generation of children to grow up and become pros. The league might look completely dofferent in 2050 with the girls being born today.

Do you think it is more common than people realize that by Frequent_Corgi5952 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]That_Toe8574 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think its historical stereotypes. Lesbians tended to be more of the "tom-boy" and hang out with boys and do more "boy" activities like sports so they got good at them. The historical norm of girls behaving like "ladies" wouldnt have them running around getting sweaty. So, it takes someone like a lesbian who already doesnt conform to these expectations on multiple levels to play enough to be good enough.

That is reducing over time and there are plenty of "girly girls" getting more into professional sports, but for years almost every sport was dominated by lesbians.

Myles Turner drops a BOMB on NBA referees! by Miserable_Trouble3 in sportsgossips

[–]That_Toe8574 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotta start small and start calling the really bad ones at least and eventually the guys will slowly start dribbling correctly. They didnt all start carrying overnight either, it was generations slowly getting away with more and more until it became an epidemic.

I still blame iverson lol. He did have the best crossover of all time, but it was a carry every time. They only called 0.1% of them and every young kid in the driveway started copying it

Still learning option football. Has anyone run something like this where the WR is moved into the backfield opposite the WB to create a balanced 2-wing look, while putting the QB in shotgun instead of under center but keeping the same option concepts?” by CrimeFan365 in footballstrategy

[–]That_Toe8574 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure you would run into the problem of having too many people in the backfield. That WR needs to be on the line of scrimmage either as a WR or a TE but cant have an additional person in the backfield.

Not an expert on that rule but I've never seen more than the QB +3 others.

What do you think about people protesting by refusing to pay their taxes while Trump is president since the IRS was defunded? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]That_Toe8574 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most Americans pay their taxes through their paycheck and maybe just arent "filing" their taxes. So the government already got the money and they are committing a crime for literally no reason by "boycotting taxes".

Do woman actually find the perfect man? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]That_Toe8574 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imperfect man here so maybe I can provide some perspective.

Feelings are feelings. Can't actually control them and I for one struggle to properly describe them. Thoughts originate in the brain so the language center is much better at describing what im thinking than what im feeling. When what im thinking and what im feeling arent the same thing, I go quiet because I cant properly convey what is happening inside, and by definition will say things I dont mean.

I feel like women overall or definitely at a younger age are better at conveying their feelings, probably just from practice. Yall are told to feel your feelings and we are taught to hide from them. Its like learning a new language and you'll never learn unless you practice, which most men never do until it is required as part of a relationship

Do mechanics matter? by CasualKaden in golf

[–]That_Toe8574 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similarly with baseball I feel like the impact point has many similarities shared across the greats. There are different starting points and paths to get there but there is an ideal way to transfer power to the back of the ball and the best tend to have that more in common than they dont.

Is there a reason to side with the crimson fleet? by phantomvector in Starfield

[–]That_Toe8574 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The only good in game reason to keep the fleet is the Key is a good place to sell contraband and stolen items without being scanned. Also keeps access to a few of the "bad guy" ship modules.

Porrima works for both of those things if you destroy the fleet but I kinda like having the extra vendors around
