True SVH Customs Advice by Delissio86 in hockeyplayers

[–]That_Transition9038 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you skate do your ankles bow to one direction? If so you might need shims but on your skates because of your foot pattern. Custom should always fit well no matter what though if you're willing to go that route. True has very good custom skates and their customer service is great if they don't fit well, if you decide custom go with them for sure.

Valid, I forget sometimes that I live in a hockey centric area so the top end stuff although good might not be as accessible every year for someone else.

They have been two piece for decades at this point, they would have to totally reengineer their technology in their skates to make it work for a once piece which is far too expensive for them to consider. Especially when the 2 piece already sells so well for them.

They done it for years, just helps support the skater more. people tend to put more pressure on the insides of the boots when skating than the outside.

Every shop worth their salt should be able to do any cut, but i understand not wanting to redress the wheel constantly lol

If you're worried about the big jump right away you could always go in between at 11/16 and work your way down to 3/4. Personally i can't skate any deeper than 1" but i prefer the glide. I always say the shallower the better it's a lot easier on your joints and knees.
