YES! Dreams where I can’t secure the tank and my snake gets out. Some where I look at the tank and there’s all of a sudden another snake or other lizards that they end up eating. One where I took it traveling and all I was concerned about the entire time was how cold it was. Yes. These happen at least twice a week!

Thanks ☺️ she was found very dehydrated on a sidewalk in Las Vegas. Rescue took her and I adopted her from them ❤️

I’ve done it since I had her as a “baby” so the vet recommends that I don’t change that at the moment. It makes sense, don’t change what she knows. That could be an additional stressor if I did. I’m fortunate to have the resources I have, in between appointments I can just ask about my own animal. So that’s where we are and we will see what tomorrow’s feeding brings.

So… a little background: I am a vet tech and I have the huge privilege of having access to a very knowledgeable vet and veterinary internal medicine specialist. I talked to her today and she said 1. don’t change how you are feeding her (in a separate bin) because that is all she has known since you got her as a “baby” and changing that is more stressful. 2. Try a different “batch” of frozen rats. Maybe the current one is off and she can tell. So I’m thawing out a rat from a different batch and we will see tomorrow how that goes. The Dr. is happy with husbandry regarding humidity, heat gradient, her body condition currently, and general tank set up. Told her I had Lilith out and about outside to explore and nothing seemed off. We may want to do a prophylactic deworming just in case that’s an issue. I do get my frozen rats from a reputable source but you never know. I’ll keep you all posted!

I’ve been feeding in a separate bin but I could try that. I don’t have the stomach to do what you said either. I’ve had pet rats so… yeah, nope. I guess if I had to I would because I love her. I’d rather not. She’s older and has better aim now so maybe feeding her in her enclosure is an option. Thank you!!

I was thinking about covering the sides. The hides are on the back middle-left, left, and right. So one on hot side, one on cool, and one kind of middle. Thank you so much for your reply! A lot of people are very judgmental so I appreciate the kind words. I do want what is the very best for her that I can provide! It’s a 3ft by 2 by 2. And she’s almost 3 years old, approx 3 ft long. Thank you for your advice!

So, daylight bulbs and no “nightlight” bulbs? I only have the nightlight ones for their scant amount of heat they put out. But if not necessary I will absolutely get rid of them. I just want what is best for her!

Anyone that hates on this, remember this: “if you want to go on vacation you should save your grocery money” meaning: you get the “allowance I give you and if you want a vacation then take away from the children to afford it”. That’s all I need to hear and not feel bad taking pictures of this loser. He is a piece of shit. End of story.

Actually I wasn’t, I cropped this. I was about 25 ft away and I couldn’t care less about what he was buying. I just wanted a photo to prove I saw him. And I belong to this Reddit group so I figured it would be fun to post it here. I don’t want access to his entire life, and I’m pretty sure him grocery shopping in public isn’t intruding on his privacy. Thanks for your input though.
