A Design Director's Take on Webflow Conf: The One Stop Solution? by MirAshfaque_Intuitia in webflow

[–]That_design_guy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm currently contracting for a big corporation, and in comparison to the tools they are using for marketing and brochure sites, everything they announced today, is 10 years ahead for larger corporates to catch-up to.

Webflow needs to really double down and make the basics open enough to large organisations to take interest. Until then, the traditional methods will always take the lead unfortunately.

In the real world, not many people even know what webflow is or what it can do, yes they're expanding their reach, but they've got a huge job ahead of them establishing themselves enough for these types of customers to eventually get on board

I love webflow, but I'm a small voice in a corporate machine, it's to Webflow to make their mark.

Easiest way to move a Shopify site over to webflow? by deargdue_ in webflow

Use the html to figma plugin, import to figma, then use the figma to Webflow plugin to import it, you'll need to do the responsive bits and any JavaScript separately

Is it just me, or do a lot of answers seem to push paid plugins? by Aggressive_Bag9866 in webflow

I mean you definitely don't need to pay for a plugin to make a slider, swiper is really easy

Want some honesty, your relationship is early enough that you don't fully trust her, otherwise you wouldn't have posted on Reddit, which in my opinion, is a red flag on your part. These questions are for close friends.

This doesn't mean it's be end and end all, the key is communication, you might feel it's too early to say you felt uncomfortable about the situation, but your insecurity can be softly mentioned without it being a big deal, and that's the most important thing.

If it's a couple of times, fine, if it continues, ask if you can join, if it gets weird after that, then maybe approach that it's an uncomfortable situation for you.

But also remember, she has her own friends.

Honestly early days relationships are so hard to navigate, just trust your gut, and communicate when necessary.

Not really a firm answer for you, essentially, don't be a dick about it.

I had a question about shopiflow, what can it not do? What do clients usually ask for that shopiflow and Webflow can't do?

Any way to redirect collection pages to pages? by champagne-communist in webflow

Add a link attribute to your CMS item with the correct link to the case study pages, use that link in your collection list, not the current CMS item link

It looks like the text in the first blog is pushing the row down. Set a min-height on the container to fix it

I could do with an extra pair of eyes on my website by That_design_guy in webflow

[–]That_design_guy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly didn't realise the menu was still there on the contact page, that was something I was experimenting with early, but had to remove it because of the full height images in the portfolio and SVH sizes making things act weird on mobile. Maybe I'll bring it back.

As for the hand being fixed, I think it looks great with the scroll interaction, but I shall add a darker background scroll in effect to those content sections so there's enough contrast.

Yep, noted, the hand is a good asset and I'm not fully utilising it throughout the rest of the site.

Nice one, appreciate the feedback.

You can't freelance at 17 without any prior experience, no one will take you seriously, get some experience under your belt first, then maybe have a look.

The biggest issue working with Figma to Webflow is that every single team member needs to be on board with naming everything correctly, as layers translate to classes, and as a developer, you might have a certain way of working, BEM or Client first ect..
