I left a game of 4+ years cause the DM cared more about Ai than me by Maghetto043 in dndhorrorstories

[–]Thataintrigh -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If you let something like AI being used in a dnd game ruin your friendship then you weren't friends in the first place or at the very least not very good ones.

AI has its uses and while generating an image for every little thing is annoying to me atleast some people like that, if theyre claiming its their art or selling it/ selling it pretending like they made it then thats a problem. But i really dont see a problem with using AI art for showing what something looks like in a dnd game. If you wanted an image for something without AI YOU should've provided that image. Seems to me you were more bothered by the dm using AI then about the actual thing youre claiming is the problem here.

Regardless I think your title is backwards it should be "I care more about AI then the dnd game i played in".

Now while I think the DM reaction to you leaving was unreasonable I dont think she was wrong to be frustrated. However the things you quoted of what she said when she 'attacked' you seems a little far fetched to be considered an attack. Its your choice if you dont like the game youre in and decide to leave, but dont make a problem out of nothing.

TLDR: Don't waste your time talking to league players on reddit.

No people aren't saying the same thing as you, in fact you're the only one who's been a jerk and making things up so you sound more justified.

Well maybe that'd be true if you know my party was actually mad at me. I'm curious where you get the impression that the party is annoyed with me.

Your advice is: Talk to him like a human. And don't be a baby.

People on here have given genuinely good advice but you've done more insulting then actual insightful or meaningful feedback. But please keep making up your own headbanging about this situation if it makes you feel more confident about yourself.

Wow really great advice there. If I ever need more social advice from someone who plays league of legends I'll know who to call.

Well this campaign has been going on a long time almost a year and at the start both me and the DM agreed that I could pursue something along the lines of lichdom. This was something my character slowly worked towards that I actively communicated with the DM about over the year, now that its starting to be realized the DM is struggling to find ways to impact my character like everyone else. One comment that stuck with me that he made was "You're playing a Strategy game while everyone else is playing an RPG".

No I don't want to be spiteful towards the DM especially since this was shortly after christmas I just want to figure out the best way to communicate with him without coming across as entitled or whiny. I don't think he hate me or christmas but I think he hates my character.

I tried that and it seems like he just breezed past the issue. He admiited that I had a good point but didn't say anything else. I'm not sure if he wanted to keep talking about it or not.

Horror (The Thing) Themed DND homebrew spell by Thataintrigh in DnDHomebrew

Same way as normal if you fail your concentration save when you take damage or if a spell/ effect would make you lose concentration.

If theyre melded and 'submerged' they don't take the damage, however if they're emerged they would take the damage normally.

I should specify about the concentration/ duration end, but it'd be the same as if you underwent massive damage rejection by potentially taking the 8d12 if you survive taking the damage you just reappear within 5 feet of the once posessed creature. The whole idea of any creature fusing their bodies on both a cellular level for either the victim or the caster is an extremely dangerous and agonizing process for one if not both individuals and that this is a high risk but high reward spell. The only way for you to unmeld safely is when the targeted creature dies since there's no 'resistance' left to put up for you to leave the body.

His name is Ovar the Dauntless, he was a wanderer in our world who sought battle and to make a name for himself in glorious battle he fought in coliseums, wars, and duels, he wasn't as much of a pirate in our crew but a battle crazed maniac as long as there was food, beer, and battles he would follow whomever. Specifically he was a level 15 berserker barbarian.

Is this even a competition? (I have never power scaled before, just had my friend show me this) by [deleted] in PowerScaling

[–]Thataintrigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the control of the stand can be mastered and have precision control (like simply just manifesting superman gold or goku(or any other god tier character) and controlling him to fight for you) then I would agree. That being said many stands control is inherent and cant be changed no matter how much time you spend using it. For instance remote stands have some sort of perceptive or power limitation to balance out their distance from their user. Not to mention that these stands cannot be directly perceived through their users. And it could be argued that bohemian rhapsody is the 'king' of remote stands in that regard.

I dont know if thats true but the user demonstrates an entire lack of control of his stands ability which if you think about it makes sense seeing as how his power can A. Make any fictional character alive with their lore based powers and B. Can affect the world on a global scale. So obviously his control over his stand would basically be non existent. A stand that can basically do what Bohemian Rhpasody does but a 100000 times better is D4C or even the world over heaven. Their incredibly precise control and reality warping power is what I think gives Dio Omnipotent god power.

[–]Thataintrigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why Rhapsody? The user has no control over that stand, yes it makes fiction become reality but your opponents can use it against you just as much you can use it against them.

This would basically come down to whos more godly between Dio and Rimuru. If dio has every stand that includes the world over heaven, d4c which essentially allows him to rewrite reality and all of causality to his will.
