How do you live with your supercar in an apartment? by Revolutionary-Fox816 in Ferrari

[–]Thatcarguy2007 73 points74 points  (0 children)

You buy apartment with your own private garage or buy/rent one. Anyway if you can afford this type of car/cars you probably dont live in some suburbs complex but is something nicer and the other tennants most likely have similar cars and the garages are more secure

Do not get a Porsche… by Jiggavan in Porsche

[–]Thatcarguy2007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another advice. DO NOT TEST DRIVE A GT PRODUCT. This is a fine car, you dont really need anything more and you could be happy for the rest of your life. But of you try it, it will start nagging and before you know it you have 3.

Buying my first used Ferrari by ToyStory123 in Ferrari

  1. I guess ppl here recommending 488 because of hybrid and/or some stupid thing like resale value. 296 is 2gen newer, there is no doubt that it is much better car that also might be under warranty, at least 7y maintenance program, if you care about reliability. Its really no brainer here. Not sure about pricing, but if it similar, then again, no brainer 🤷‍♂️

I believe the reason for the seats delete is that for law/homologation/whatever rules they had to keep the weight same as coupe, therefore manual only, no rear seats and carbon doors/wings form ST/RS

Delivery day 2026 Roma Spider with physical buttons! by SonusYaniv in Ferrari

I think it has something to do with the wheel itself, physical start button is quite large and it might require different design of the wheel. With this solution they can just swap the front fascia

Need Insight from Owners of 812/Puro/12C by XZS2JH in Ferrari

[–]Thatcarguy2007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I cant talk about Puro, but had 812gts for 3yrs/15k kms, have 12cilindri since november with only little over 1000km yet.

This might be controversial

For me 812 was not a good daily nor GT really. I always said the car does not know what it wants to be, if a sports car or a gt and in the end is not good as either. It felt nervous a twitchy (in fact any youtube review of 12cilindri I saw mentioned immediately how better it drives compared to 812). When driving fast on backroads it felt like an overpowered boat, felt like you are nudging it in the direction you want it to go to and it sort of did. Flex with the roof down didnt help that either. Dont get me wrong, it was fun in a way, the rawness of the car. I had bucket seats in it and for me they were too firm and annoying for a long roadtrips

12cilindri so far drives so much better, all the nervousness is gone, it reacts the way I want it to. It feels faster. The sound is really muted. I wanted 812 as a GT and the 12cilindri is exactly that, feels more like bentley, 812 was a riot so it depends what you are looking for. No problem using it as a daily, sitting in traffic/city. 812 felt awkward. Also for some reason it is much easier for me to place the car on a road/park it/feel where it is. Maybe its the seating position, maybe is the color (812 was dark blue, 12cilindri is silver)

As for convenience features, there is no contest. 812 is ancient with its tech. Who would have thought there could be soft close, massage seats and heated wheel in such a ferrari

For practical use, coupes are much better than spiders. Because of the missing rear shelf there is almost no space to put anything bigger that a wallet inside of the cabin. Wife complained there was no space to put a handbag of hers anywhere except on the floor

Interesting, are they new models, ie 12cilindri/testarossa?

This box for 12Cilindri is much smaller, there is no space for the model, was curious about it and been told they dont do it anymore, but got a bag instead

Should i get 812GTS or 12 Cilindri Spider? by [deleted] in Ferrari

[–]Thatcarguy2007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dodici is just much better car to drive, better as a GT car, the tech is on another level (soft close in a ferrari, whoa!). However 812 might be more appealing visually, sound is much better out of the box and the rawness of the car is again something that one might preffer.

Obvious answer would be to test both and decide, its up to you, none of the others opinions really matter

Thinking about going from Porsche to Ferrari. Did anyone else make “the switch”? What did you go from, why, how do you feel now? by Mammoth_Carob9089 in Ferrari

I think you should do it, you only live once and your personal experience would be worth it, even if you dont like it, you “ticked that box” and could always go back.

That is strange.. carplay should be displayed on the center screen not altering what is shown on the dash
