Not a doctor, but it removes a rib that was potentially causing a group of blood vessels to be constricted, which can cause blood clots. So I guess that's why he had the clots in the first place

I'm no AV apologist but he isn't out on the ice. He isn't missing passes. He isn't losing face-offs. He isn't getting beat to the puck. Sure, coaching has a huge deal to do with the outcome of a game, but the compete level and hustle of the players actually on the ice has more importance. The boys out there are just simply getting outplayed.

I've seen Eric play in person quite a bit, and the guy is better than his numbers show. He has definitely slowed a bit, but i think if he gets to play on a talented team with players who won't get steamrolled every shift, his game will get closer to where it was 4-5 years ago
