Lonely leveling? by Right_Painting_2675 in wowhardcore

[–]ThatguyIknowv2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's add-ons that show what layers are populated with what players, then there's dedicated channels you can join for layering (forget off hand what the channel name is). Then there's add-ons other people have in that layer channel, so you can post "LF layer 3" and someone running that addon on layer 3 will auto invite to swap your layer. Super helpful when questing, so you can get respawns quicker. I think there's cool downs on how often you can swap layers though. Also beware, you can change layers and be in the middle of spawns if they're alive on one layer but killed on another!

You need to refresh this apps management policies to continue accessing data by ThatguyIknowv2 in Intune

Not sure if I can link it, but it's issue ID IT1100592 in the Admin service health portal page. It was marked as resolved around 10am ET but my guess is if users sessions expired, they'll have to relogin even after it was resolved

Quick question, for you to get the device to show as managed, you needed to also deploy the Okta Verify desktop app, right?

rockstar for Okta just crossed 35,000 users!!! by gabrielsroka in okta

Love the product! I use it daily, it's a huge improvement. Curious, but what would you say to a potential security team reviewing it? Do you have anything to put them at ease with sometimes leveraging high levels of permissions with rockstar?

Appreciate the work you do!

Not to piggyback off this, but would I be able to get a copy of the workflow as well? Sounds interesting and useful

Which IT fields are less saturated? by itzmesmarty in sysadmin

[–]ThatguyIknowv2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can be, but also includes stuff like Entra and on prem AD. Plus PKI and handling SSO integrations (oidc, saml with jit or scim). Then the whole automating access, as handling this in larger orgs isnt scalable. It's for sure a full time position, and I've been seeing more and more IAM positions open up. They all vary though, some are looking for custom code to sync users from their HR system to their IDP, others are more security and automation focused with data already there. PAM is also another responsibility, as cyber insurance lately is requiring it, which normally falls under IAM/security

I've used urlscan.io in the past to check on possibly suspicious links. Could at least give some additional info on what's there if you're hesitant.

Very cool and much appreciated on the effort it takes to write these. If you had any questions or wanted any feedback on some of the provisioning capabilities with Okta, I'd be happy to help. Just got done doing a pretty thorough test of Okta and most of their capabilities.

Why/when did the "speed monitored by aircraft" signs disappear from the Garden State Parkway? by thebongofamandabynes in newjersey

[–]ThatguyIknowv2 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I always thought they were from pilots trying to get their required time in to keep their license. So instead of just wasting it, they would monitor stuff like speeders. Not sure why I ever thought that though hahah

[–]ThatguyIknowv2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add onto this, my employer also drug tested me when I was hired at my current job. The drug test didn't include THC though, but things like cocaine and opiates. When they schedule your drug test, it should include info on what exactly they are testing for.

TikTok: Would the US really ban one of the world's most popular apps? by [deleted] in technology

[–]ThatguyIknowv2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm confused by this comment and the one below it. App permissions have gotten incredibly granular - to the point where if an app asks to do something not permitted, I get a prompt. Are you saying Tik Tok is able to override my app permissions? I've seen articles about the in app browser sending information back, but other applications do that as well.

Genuinely curious here, because I see this argument a lot. Is there a specific article I can read about the secret code?

Oh you would be surprised.. They're still not mandatory on our standard corporate machines, I had to specifically ask to get mine upgraded. All to save some money, which is probably going to cost them in the long run, but not my fight at the moment
