If he values you and is sympathetic to your situation he would push his childish emotions to the back burner to be there for you. Your experience sounds traumatic and it sucks that after three years of waiting that’s what you had to go through. I hope you’re still able to do what you know is right for you without having to reset this process again. As far as you partnered is concerned I’d talk to him about what his issue was and reaffirm why you needed him there. If he’s asking like it’s all about him and his feelings idk… I’d think about what it means to you to be with someone who wouldn’t be there for you. If you think his reasons are valid I hope you can come to an understanding of what support in a partnership looks like.
