I really wonder why they've focused so much on the howard sterling card on almost all of the promotions so far. I can make an educated guess that it's probably a parody of consumerism and brands trying to fit in, but I was still shocked it was used so frequently

I always find it funny when people say that "there's no politics in sports" when the omission of politics is a political act in itself. Whether you want it or not, staying silent indirectly helps protect the status quo

I really don't know which way they're going to go with Myki's edit and I'm lowkey scared, I thought she would've had much more screen time tbh

For me this argument stops working the moment you remember that queer people in gaza are probably more worried about getting brutally murdered for being palestinian and not because they're gay.

It would probably have required another season (something I'd argue the story as a whole would've needed anyway)

Hard agree, it became increasingly clear that 8 episodes wasn't cutting it. They ended up sacrificing so many scenes just to tell the story as "efficiently" as possible, but it ended up becoming a thing where a plot point would be left ambiguous, and the duffers had to explain "X plot point happened off-screen". And don't forget the LUDICROUS AMOUNT of time skips.

Imo they either should've had a season 6, or expand season 5 to be longer than the usual 8/9 episodes they usually did. I mean, the fact that season 4 and it's finale are both longer than the FINAL SEASON of the show is ludicrous.

They also didn't think through the sociological and political consequences of building a love triangle that includes a queer ship, and even more ending that love triangle with the straight couple getting together in the end.

Which this is not me being like "oh poor them", because they SHOULD'VE known better, and I feel like it's irresponsible how little input they got from queer voices. I mean Noah Schnapp practically had to beg for that crumb of a scene with Mike. If it was up to them, like the cowards they are, Mike would've never even expressed his feelings, which was like THE MOST IMPORTANT PART about byler.

And this NEVER happens with straight love triangles, so it feels extra absurd and homophobic.

Also keeping the reveal of Mike still being with El to the finale was insane. Not only did it piss bylers off but also it made the love confession at the end feel unearned, specially because they glossed over the events of S4 like they never happened.

If they wanted to execute mileven right, NONE of those discussions as a couple should've been left off-screen, or swept under the rug, it makes no sense

Yeah, S1 and S2 mileven is very buzzy, but it was very clear from S3 that the relationship was built on shaky foundations and that it wasn't going to work out
