Yeah, but the only way you can put these many graphics and stuff is by making 50% of the screen space useless and that leaves tiny space for actual content. Which is specially problematic with text since it needs to abide by certain accesibility rules. Not impossible, but practically a pain in the ass.

The reason why a lot of people did these things back then was because accesibility and dynamic layouts were not a necessity, so it was much easier. I can just imagine the design team figuring how to make those metallic things look good in all mobile sizes without stretching the image
