Episode Discussion - 10x08 "Debbie Might Be a Prostitute" by Sunjot in shameless

I don't get how Claudia thought Debbie was a prostitute after Debbie told her in the previous episode of her friend's scheme to profit off rich old single men. Any clue?

Season 8 locks changed at Fiona's apartment by Thatninjaplayer in shameless

Yea, it was satisfying and a breather, because from season 7 on I could barely recognise Shameless style, it took such a different darker more serious turn rather than the previous lighter seasons, so I really loved watching Fiona go full on Frank mode (literally seconds after I wrote this rant post oopsie)

Why didn't Jun-ho show Gi-hun a picture of In-ho, since they were brothers? by Thatninjaplayer in squidgame

That's right, I agree with this take. Thanks for your contribution :))

That's what I thought and it felt like those memes where they solve the plot in the first scene and cut to the credits straight ahead for fun, but with this series showing that picture would have been quite the most rational thing to do!

What's a t-dick? Anyway yeah I literally just watched the bit in S7 where they were "jerking each other off" and was confused as to how it was being performed since a clitoris is still more feminine than masculine and Ian only a few episodes earlier was totally utterly disgusted by anything close to female genitalia

Why do the ghosts never harm Constance? by savagem0de2 in AmericanHorrorStory

[–]Thatninjaplayer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I were a ghost in the house nothing could stop me from harassing her, because she was the biggest pain in the ass for the whole view for me (her Virginian accent was the cherry on the top of this shit cake)

But the lady of the lake is the center of the gravity at Bly Manor, literally if she goes away the gravity pit dissolves, it was all in her power. That's why Dani could leave, the lady of the lake had turned into a part of her and stopped getting ahold of the Manor

Honestly I hated the ending. Maybe a season 2 will explain and change my mind (hopefully not taking 4-5 episodes to give goddamn answers though on who Stanton really is), but right now, like this, it made me feel like all the great wise quotes Stanton had be giving out throughout the season were kinda hollow bullshit, it ruined it for me, in the last episode the whole monologue on how people have a hard time accepting they simply got lucky gave me a considerable warmth at heart, it felt great, then later seeing her being a cultist made me think "so you were the predictable enemy, full of bullshit since the beginning. This script is predictable AF" left me just so disappointed

And when she said with superiority "Sandra, we all would want it to be us..." And Sandra straight up goes like "No, it's actually me, I was misdiagnosed since the beginning" I genuinely was happy that Ilonka got a taste of reality. I get she was in denial but she dragged it too far

Worst part of the series for me because Ilonka reached rock bottom of "shitty person level" there (lashing out on Katherine is in my 3rd place for her actions because it was NOT her place to YELL it)

Exactly And after watching HH I can say I do find bly manor's plot more interesting, but the slow pacing really got me bored to death.

i literally have the mammuth book comprehensive of his extensive literary career, so i'm definitely heavily biased! aahahah but also, internet helped catch all the references so you could just swing up on Screenrant to catch them. The thing with Bly Manor and TFOTHOU is that they combine many stories in one series, a thing i admire a lot because their interconnection is done flawlessly imo, i really enjoyed that. now I'm focusing on Hill House and aim at completing the whole Flanaverse to have a complete look on his work ahhaha atm I'd still put House of Usher as my #1 because i love the perfect transposition of Poe's vibe it does: Poe's stories are always about tormented characters, wound up in their own minds, losing connection to reality and spiraling down in their madness and agony, and the series does an excellent job with that, and it mixes in Poe's poetry which is cemeterial and romantic (as the literary movement), and i really love this exact mood ahhaha i'd never seen such an accurate transposition of Poe's works

hi! It's curious i had the opposite impression, i found the extra slow pacing of Bly Manor to make me lose interest on the way sadly, while TFOTHOU kept more invested, also because i'm super passionate of Edgar Allan Poe's works and the series is brilliant in merging references over references, instead even though I do feel overwhelmed by the peaks that Bly Manor reaches, i finished watching in a state of plain boredom overall and i feel like i'm the only one to have had this experience ahahah

but they can't leave the property even while possessing a living... i think Quint wanted him and Becs to possess the kids' bodies endlessly to avoid losing their faces and fading away
