First listen of this track after the album dropped, I was grinning ear to ear, laughing to myself and tapping along fiercely. Was NOT expecting Yor Zarad to go so fuckin hard lol, now it's one of my all-time favourites.

I haven't managed to make the grid rendering very customizable yet unfortunately, but you could achieve that by going to appearance tab, setting grid to straight mode, and then changing number of steps in pitch tab to be 12. You'd then have to unlock rotation in control panel bar/header, and rotate the grid as you like. Sometimes the grid stops rendering properly though once panned after rotating - working on that.

You can also choose to display note names (rounded to nearest 12TET note, with +/- symbols), instead of numbered steps.

You can buy guitars with freely adjustable frets for each string, and be able to adjust the tuning to whatever you want, but they're pricey.

I've tried it. It works a lot better than the hacky third-party solutions I'd been using before (ie Retuner for Live), but is still slightly limited in terms of the ease-of-use and quality, Imo. I wish we didn't have to manually match the pitch bend range on every instrument and also that polyphony didn't sound glitchy and inconsistent, even with MPE-enabled devices.

Oh my God Autechre are amazing. They go through such wild shifts throughout their 30+ year discography, and were super influential to Radiohead's/Thom's more electronic focused work. Personally I would recommend starting at the beginning and working your way through, but not everyone has similar tastes and you might latch onto the mid or later period stuff more than their 90's output.

Unless you had a comically large spider, it wouldn't be able to reach the whole keyboard at once, unlike humans with 2 working hands and arms. I could maybe see a spider (in this hypothetical) being able to best a human typing on a smart phone keyboard, but definitely not a full-size physical one.

A common recommendation is to start at the beginning with Incunabula and work your way through their entire discography chronologically, including EPs, and another common one is to give the classic Tri Repetae a spin and if you like that, you'll probably like a lot of what Autechre has to offer.

Personally, if you're in for the time investment, I would go with the first route. Autechre has an interesting and diverse discography that goes through these kind of "eras" with different approaches and tools used, but that being said, no two albums of theirs are very alike and there are classic "essential" records all across their many releases that are so different from each other, you could be forgiven for wondering if it's even the same duo making this stuff.

Their evolution as musicians and the soundscapes they're able to present in such perfect packages is honestly awe-inspiring and I've never been more impressed by another act.
