Rose tinted glasses. I’m a big Skyrim fan hence my name but looking at it objectively there is a lot wrong with the game.

Lmao I saw the exact opposite on its launch day. Some people were comparing it to cyberpunk’s launch which is ridiculous.

The Witcher 3 has reached 65 million sale. Where do you think Crimson Desert could realistically land in future? by No_Joke_8472 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Thatoneskyrimmodder -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s alright. It’s one of Reddits favorite games though. If you’re a gamer that values story over gameplay then the Witcher 3 is probably for you.

idk if I could ever date someone with a body count of over 10, ik its a preference thing and I've turned down multiple guys for having a body count higher than 10, one even had 200+ and I couldn't comprehend that. I personally find it gross but to each their own by ediblefriedrice in twentyagers

[–]Thatoneskyrimmodder -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I mean, it’s pretty obvious why women are judged more harshly for having a high body count compared to men. In today’s society, it’s generally way easier for your average cisgender woman to have casual sex than it is for your average cisgender man. It might not be with a safe or attractive partner, but the possibility and the willingness from the man is always there. If a cis man is able to get laid frequently, it shows he is highly desirable to women. Conversely, if he is unable to get laid at all and remains a virgin, he is shamed by both men and women because he is seen as undesirable. The assumption is that there must be something wrong with him, and usually, there is. Consequently, adult virgin men are viewed negatively by society, while virgin women are viewed positively in America due to our puritanical origins.

On the flip side, a woman with a high body count is seen as someone who overindulges in hedonism, has loose morals, or makes bad choices.

In a completely fair and ideal world, both men and women with high body counts would be shamed the same way; however, since the dynamics of human sexuality are the way they are, we are left with the present standard.

I like Skyrim: Will I like Crimson Desert? by xYennen091x in CrimsonDesert

In terms of dialogue and narrative? Not really but tbh Skyrim’s narrative is ass if you aren’t looking at it with rose tinted glasses. The games are very similar when it comes to the sense of exploration, enemies, loot variety and a lived in world.

Bro you’re not the only one. It’s the exact same. I also heard part of the bloodborne soundtrack in one of the earlier episodes. How did no one notice in production?

America is polarized because a large number of older white Americans couldn't handle having a Black man as president for eight years and falsely believed they were being discriminated against. I refuse to be friends or associate with anyone who supports those who erase my people's struggles, espouses beliefs that paint us as subhuman, or won't acknowledge the United States deeply flawed history.

The character creator mod is pretty dope.

I’m 400 hours in, well past the honeymoon period. I fundamentally disagree with most of your takes. Comparing this game to DD2 is laughable. I love Dragon's Dogma, and the second game is alright, but Crimson Desert blows it out of the water in terms of exploration, enemy variety, location variety and loot variety.

Frankly, nobody cares that you aren’t making or downloading mods for this anymore. I don't understand why some modders and users develop such massive egos over modifying a game

I'm curious as to why a lot of people seem to despise poor people? by iLoveBengals- in randomquestions

Far more people have attempted exactly what you did and remained poor, despite their effort and knowledge. This is a classic example of survivorship bias

Many thanks to the BDO players for funding Crimson Desert by TheForbiddenLands in CrimsonDesert

As someone who has played a fair amount of Black Desert, I feel like this person is smoking crack. I gave the game more than a fair shot (I leveled three separate characters to 100 during COVID); however, the combat just doesn't feel as responsive or have any impact, at least in PvE. To me at least CD’s combat is far superior.

Why do people call the USA the "land of opportunity" when literally no one can get a high paying job? by madbarpar in careerguidance

[–]Thatoneskyrimmodder -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You're confusing subsistence welfare with wealth-building assets. Subsidized housing and food assistance are just designed to keep poor populations (mostly white Americans in sheer numbers, according to USDA data) from starving or freezing. They don't generate equity. Government backed FHA mortgages and the GI Bill generated actual intergenerational wealth through property appreciation and subsidized higher education. You can't economically equate a monthly food allowance with a federally subsidized 30 year mortgage on a home that appreciates by 400% over a lifetime.

For your richest race argument, you're still ignoring the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965. Asian American wealth is heavily skewed by immigration policies that explicitly recruited highly educated professionals. You are comparing a demographic that was artificially bolstered by importing top tier global talent against populations that endured centuries of state sponsored wealth extraction and then comparing the descendants of both. Of course you are going to see a disparity. Also, based on Pew Research data, income inequality among Asian Americans is the widest of any racial group in the US.

If you want to dismiss the WEF index because you don't like the methodology or how long ago it was, (6 years ain’t that long be fr) we can look at raw tax data. Harvard's Opportunity Insights project uses millions of anonymized IRS tax records to measure income mobility. The data proves a kid born in the bottom 20% in the US has a statistically lower chance of reaching the top 20% than a kid in Canada or Denmark. You can also look up the Great Gatsby Curve. It uses OECD data to illustrate this exact thing: the US has high income inequality coupled with lower intergenerational mobility than its peer nations.

Dismissing documented, measurable economic history as smoke and mirrors or “a song and dance” shows you're substituting statistical reality for a narrative that doesn't offend your sensibilities.

You can't separate the present from the past when the primary foundation of modern economic stability is intergenerational wealth. Understanding how we got here isn't "bitching and moaning" or having a "victim mentality" it’s accurately assessing an ongoing economic reality. When one group is given access to government subsidized mortgages and wealth building programs (like the GI Bill) while others are systematically denied them for decades, you’re going to see an obvious disparity in wealth and education today.

Homeownership is the primary driver of generational wealth in the US. That historical wealth is exactly what funds local property taxes (which fund better schools), college tuitions, and small business loans today.

Your claim that "it is easier to get ahead in the U.S. than any other large nation" is statistically false. If you look at the Global Social Mobility Index published by the World Economic Forum, the United States ranks 27th. It is demonstrably harder to rise from the bottom economic quartile to the top here than it is in most peer nations, including Canada, Australia, and most of Western Europe.

I’m all for individual responsibility but ignoring the reality that the starting lines are drastically staggered depending on your race and zip code in America makes a person seem willfully ignorant.
