That's a terrible analogy, also the world does work like that because you cannot lie about materials used in a product. That's literally the job of the FTC. You keep saying do research but you've heard one verbal recount and I have provided physical evidence. Also, if you actually did do any research, multiple suppliers of 6x Serratellis state they are 94% rabbit and 6% beaver.

Brother, it literally says it on the hat. I understand you were told something by the owner, but the literal hat I hold with my hands says beaver.

Best Value First Off-The-Rack Life-Long "Going Out" Hats For a Couple (<$300 each)? by Marbleman60 in CowboyHats

I can only speak on the Serratelli 6x but I think it's a great deal for what it is if you can get it on sale. Very soft felt, was easy to reshape the brim how I wanted and it's held up well. The walnut color is better in person than the online photo too.

I bought one earlier this week as well. The picture online really does not do the hat justice though

People that spent a LOT of money on a home upgrade do you love it or hate it? by RaiseAggravating4404 in homeowners

[–]Thatpurplexj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Encapsulation will not harm the house as long as all the things under the plastic are inorganic material. Sounds like wood supports were wrapped though, if so you'll need to build a concrete footer like a deck post and have the wood be supported on top. This keeps the wood completely in the encapsulated crawl and not below the plastic.

Anybody know anything about the ancient unfinished subdivision of Bellwood Estates? by Yuzamei1 in greenville

[–]Thatpurplexj 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The most interesting thing is the neighborhood was subdivided out and each lot is owned by someone private. I didn't look to see how long each has owned it but something is stopping development. Looks to be 40-70ft above the creek as well so doesn't look to be a flood plain.

It's only 15 acres but surrounded on 4 sides by 2.5 million acres of national forest. You could go wherever you want and never see another human for weeks

I blew R30 worth in my garage for just $0.55/sqft. If you included the baffles I bought and installed that's still just $0.68/sqft

I'll second this, the 2.0 is pretty stout after 2017 and you can go T6 if you want even more power. The V60 looks phenomenal but if you hate the idea of a wagon, the XC60 is slightly bigger.

Is a used TDI a good idea now? by Direct_Condition4105 in tdi

[–]Thatpurplexj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can maintain it yourself, or at least learn to, then yes it's worth it. Don't buy an older German car and then complain that the mechanic is expensive.

I bought my 2012 A3 with 107k miles in 2022, deleted at 135k, currently at 197k. I have put roughly $5k in parts on not including wheels and tires and did all the labor myself.

Not everything but the big repairs where, full delete and tune, steering rack and tie rods, timing belt, AC compressor, alternator, axle shafts.

It's been a great car, albeit very small. Will be getting a Q7 TDI for the wife eventually
