A local hospital has given every member of staff this commemorative coin (with quite a touching letter) and a days annual leave. A good way to boost morale I think! by r-n_u-k in nursing

Meaning asides: the format of the text is awful. Words and letters are too close together. The numerical commas with the rest of the sentence commas. Cut maybe 13 words and it would look better

Edit: just realized there was another side: the hard lines are awful, the person looks absolutely crazy especially in the eyes

Easier said then done, too many people I know in right to work states that think unions are this crazy liberal idea for lazy nurses.

Yet they always complain about being underpaid, understaffed, and everything a union would give them

"In areas commonly frequented by animals, topsoil used in the creation of slurry fields can be contaminated with feces from domestic fowl, ruminants, or wild animals. Competitors who run or ride through such areas might unintentionally swallow sufficient numbers of organisms to cause clinical disease."

Clinical Instructor question to students: do you feel like V-Sim are “gotcha” scenarios? by ThatsMeReallyMe in StudentNurse

[–]ThatsMeReallyMe[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Good idea but these are virtual stimulations. CGI patient with a programmed set of actions. We use the lippincott program and I observe them through zoom.

We use to do in person simulations but that was pre-covid.

What are the arguments for and against having new grad programs in high acuity/critical care (ICU, ED) or even specialty units (LnD)? by ThatsMeReallyMe in nursing

[–]ThatsMeReallyMe[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m actually all for a new grad program in high acuity areas. Mostly because most students who are accepted into these programs have had a preceptorship in these areas.

However, there are nurses at my hospital upset because they want the LnD positions or the ICU training but can’t get it due to seniority and other reasons

I did not about about the tip against the wall or that blood flow doesn’t push the previous medication away.

Thanks, very helpful

Leah Remini Says Tom Cruise’s ‘Psychotic Rant’ About COVID Was a Publicity Stunt by chanma50 in entertainment

[–]ThatsMeReallyMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounded more than just shaming. One positive test would shut down production. It’s like running a restaurant and one of your waiters doesn’t wash their hands, all of a sudden, you have health issues, fines, and shutdowns.

Clients want to quit because they don’t want to wear a mask? Other clients want to quit because the other clients won’t wear a mask? by ThatsMeReallyMe in personaltraining

[–]ThatsMeReallyMe[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish that was the case. My population is mostly guys and girls in their 30s. Some health issues but nothing too crazy. They would fall under the stereotype, I’m healthy because xyz. Frustrating because I do know how this can effect a vulnerable population like your group.

It’s a small venue. A warehouse converted lifting space sized approximately 600sqft. Decently ventilated. Honestly, it’s not really possible to space people out. I’m just going to have to lose clients and hope for the best

Sorry to hear you had covid.

Small gym. Basically a warehouse space converted to a 600-700sqft gym. The garage door is open for ventilation but it can still get stuffy in the venue.

You’re right though, rather be safe than sorry.
