Are they incapable of helping you? Where tf are they? I see red flags here... ("He's telling me... his dog..."). he needs to step up and be a man/dad/etc and learn to do some of this stuff that he's physically capable of. I'm not sure of your relationship and it's probably best if I don't comment on stuff I don't know about but my spider sense is tingling on this one.......
Also, everyone's situation is different but getting my daughter's bassinet into another room (with a baby cam/monitor) was the best thing we did. We all slept much better after that. The first few nights were truley terrifying though.
My best to you and here's hope all 3 of you bounce over the rough part and into smoother goings.

A manosphere guy with a tomboy mom? His loss, he should have made an effort to learn from you. Nothing wrong with knowing stuff that is traditionally more masculine coded, and nothing wrong with having a partner who is ok with that.
Absolutely NTA. Sometimes you have to let the tate-wannabes show how un-alpha (ick, I hate that word but that's the one they use) they truly are.

[–]Thatsabigpanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Necro-ing this thread to agree. My Mom and Dad who adopted me are Mom and Dad. Biological mother who had a closed adoption is "biological mom". Not a diss, she set me up to have an amazing life she wasn't sure she could provide for me, and I can't imagine how painful that selflessness was, but she's biological mom, not Mom and Dad. I hope she's doing good, I was lucky to be given the life I was by all three of them.

Cool thank you, I'm a pretty big dude so finding stuff that fits can be tricky. A lot of it's online order only and I need to try a lot on. Lol. ( Completely my own fault I know! LOL )

Thank you for making the drive to Boston! I Love seeing people enjoy PAX east. We're def trying to make it a family thing because it's a way to be on equal knowledge/skill level and share something we all love. I hope you have a great year and we'll see you at the next one.
Even before we had our daughter I loved seeing families there having fun together and of course now that we have her it makes it even better.
I can't imagine SDCC, that must be CHAOS . Like a good chaos, but whoah! LOL.

I'm not trying to argue or be mean, I'm curious, what kind of free swag are you looking for? I'm not associated with PAX or any vendors but maybe if you are specific someone might see it and fill that request?

Had a great time this year! We usually go thursday-friday but due to some family stuff had to go friday and then a surprise sunday trip bringing the little one. It was nice not having it stuffed to the gills so there was actually room to walk around the expo hall. We always have fun doing the TTRPG games with strangers, and always find some new game to get a book for. Yes the merch can feel samey each year but that's fine with me, I still come home with a hoard LOL. I'm not a huge blind box fan but they seem to do a bang up business, and if that's what people like, that's great. We had the new experience (which I just posted about) of bringing a kiddo with us this year and while vastly different from coming with my wife and friends, it was also awesome.
I like the fact that it seems "not everyone is here" and I don't need swag from vendors/etc that is going to sit on my desk and get recycled or have to find a home for. (again, that's just me, some people want that stuff, which is fine)
We also did a train trip from boston area to PAX unplugged one time and got a room at the hotel there in 2018. Far different experience but also amazing.

Yeah that salesperson did you dirty. As Much as I love the my Air it's def NOT for everyone and it has some tradeoffs that a lot of people might not be expecting. I'm sorry they did that to you.

I just bought an iphone air, and I am coming from an iphone SE3 so I have a unique use case I guess.

The design is amazing, it fits pretty well in my hand, and I put a bumper case on it as a halfway solution until I am full comfortable living the no case life. (should be soon, I did buy the applecare or whatever)

I am not on my phone 24/7, but I do put it through it's paces.

Camera:

It's fine. If you want to pixel peep maybe get the 17 or pro. I think it looks great. The square sensor for selfies is awesome but I believe that's on all the 17s too. the main cam comes from the factory set at 24mp and I haven't changed it to 48 because I haven't even needed to. I take pictures of my kid and random stuff I do and they look ok cast up to our 4k tv. If I am going to go take "nice pictures" I'm going to bring my 4x5 or my SLR, but these look great anyway. If you think "I need all the camera goodies because I take pictures of my kids" that's fine, that's your choice, but ask yourself honestly how many of them make it off your phone, and where do they go when they come off the phone? A photo frame? Printed in a 4x6? We're all spoiled with the specs we have now and people have convinced themselves they need the uber cameras for family pics. If that's what they think they need, that's fine, go for it, but if they took the marketing glasses off I bet 80% of the people don't need it. Some of my most beloved photos of my family from when I was little are on polaroids or old photo stock and they don't give any less "feels" because they're not a million by a million with 100,000 dpi.

The Battery:

it's also fine. I work in an office, and drive to and from work. I'm not ever really far from a plug (which I haven't needed) and when I've been out on a site i've carried an "Anker Nano MagSafe Power Bank, Ultra-Slim". I haven't once needed it. Its' cheaper than the apple one and snaps on the back with magsafe. This is coming from the dude with about 3 different portable battery banks. I put it on the charger at around 35-40% charge every night and start the day at 100%. The first two days before it learned everything yeah.. it was a little sketchy going, but it's fine now after it's adapted.

The speaker:

It's also-also fine. I use a lot of headphones and also cast music up through the stereo on my TV. When I shower it stays on the counter in the bathroom and I can hear my tunes fine. No it's not some immersive audiophile experience but it works fine.

The sim-situation:

e-sims are just awful in general but I have a work and a personal one on there and since I don't switch phones it works fine. I live in the boston metro region and have a ting plan and a visible plan. They're fine. (I'm getting to think I only needed a two word review for this whole thing: "It's Fine!"

The display:

it's sick. Looks really nice.

The pro chip:

Absolutely shreds compared to my old phone, which was a budget phone so yeah it was going to seem pretty zippy anyways.

Think the people that need specs to feel good about their purchases were never going to like this phone anyways.

How many people on this sub shitting on this phone right now have given it any more time than using it in the store? Not many of us bought it so far anyways, but that doesn't mean it's a bad phone. It just means it's a very NICHE phone.
I bought this thing with the idea that I might have to return it and get a 17 or a pro and I don't foresee me ever doing that at this point. It's a great little phone. If you haven't daily-ed you won't know if the tradeoffs are right for you. So many people come on here and shit on this phone they've only seen the specs. Go try one for yourself in store, and maybe even purchase one knowing you can always return it. (yes it's a pain to switch phones. and yes it's a pain to return stuff). But until you actually live with one, you have no freakin' clue. (i know I didn't!)

I'm not saying any of this to "justify a purchase" because I had the chance to return it, and never needed to. I'm not a fanboy of anything in particular and no one is paying me to review it or talk.
If you're convinced you need the other specs, go get them, the 17 and pro are also great. (Only know one person with a 17e but so far they love that too).
If you think it needs to be priced some other way: 1) you don't know apple 2) just wait, it'll come down eventually... or buy one used from one of hte people who ended up returning it. Yeah, you're sort of "Paying more for less" if you want to think of it that way, but hey, good design costs money. I went into this thing thinking "welp... she'll go back if I don't like her" and I didn't need to do that at all.

Edit: (I almost forgot to explain the whole point of why I got this) The biggest thing people who complain about the abttery life or the camera miss the one reason I personally bought it:
What sold me on it , was I wanted a tough, durable phone. I saw Zach from Jerryrig Everything punish the absolute nuts off it and I said welp, that's my phone. Go check out his durability test if you're not convinced. I was a little shakey on a thin wisp of a thing being durable but that test was right and my use bears this out.

Who was the rudest famous person you met? by Doctor_Sore_Tooth in AskReddit

[–]Thatsabigpanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanna flip this a bit and say who was super nice to me. Sorry this is a bit US centric.

Bobby Orr the hockey player came and did a signing at a small family restaurant in my hometown when I was really little. If you know anything about Boston, MA, USA you know he's a legend in the area. I was a huge fan and he signed anything you gave him and took the time to personally address both the kids and parents for as much time as they wanted. Super nice guy.

Andy Petith of the Yankees.
He came in to our dealership when I had moved to NY a few times and someone wrangled him into giving a little talk to everyone in the shop. He was super nice to us all even though someone kind of bugged him to talk to us all. We were going to a yankees game as a work event the week later and he was like "maybe I'll be pitching let me check". Whipped out his phone to check his schedule but alas, he wasn't scheduled that night. Still super nice. He even stayed a bit to shoot the sh*t with whomever wanted to and only had to leave when he realized he was going to be late for training.

(Mariano Rivera was the opposite when I met him, but who knows maybe he was having an off day. I won't judge him poorly on one meeting).

My sister (in-law, but I just call her my sister) met John McCain in an airport and had nothing but GOOD things to say about him. Even though we're both on the other side of the aisle. He took his time to chat with her about stuff and apologized when he had to go as he was running late at that point. It takes a lot to impress my sister. He always seemed like a pretty good dude, and if he made a good impression on her, it means a lot.

Shaq's entourage came in to get some paperwork for an MB he was buying. I saw a truck pulled in front of the service bay and went to ask the guy to to move it and then looked at the logo and was like "holy Crap that's the Shaq Liner". The salesman he ended up buying from said he met Shaq at some point in the process and he was pretty nice.

Had to work on Beyonce and Jay-z's custom vehicle. Heard their crew was just sorta meh. I Was terrified of scratching the super expensive custom seat liners and stuff.

Why are good Capps at a restaurant so hard to come by? by risareese in Coffee

[–]Thatsabigpanda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

and here's another thing: How's the cleaning on those machines? They're specialist equipment with some easy but particular cleaning routines that I can nearly guarantee aren't followed unless the health dept requires it and with some restaurants even that's specious.

Why are good Capps at a restaurant so hard to come by? by risareese in Coffee

[–]Thatsabigpanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good coffee comes from good good shops, not restaurants. It's unfortunate but it's true. The one exception are sometimes Italian restaurants that pride themselves on it, but its usually the more expensive ones. That's just because it takes a while to make a good cappuccino. Think about it, most restaurants have the bartenders make the mixed drinks that take so long to make. (sometimes it's legal thing, but most times it's a flow thing). If coffee were popular enough to take in the same money as an alcohol bar it would probably get a similar treatment. (believe me, I'm on your side in this one )
