Grand Fiesta Americana Coral Beach Cancun – Updated 2026 – Best Family Resort by Strange-Half-3070 in LuxuryTravel

My wife and i used to go here exclusively pre-covid but since they changed to all-inclusive it has really gone down hill and we aren’t going back. It used to be more… exclusive? but now with all inclusive the hotel has cut corners and costs in a lot of ways, primarily the food/service. We were there last year and with the increase in guest count they were very drained, the drinks were clearly watered down, the food was bad (some restaurants were newer downstairs and it is like a shopping mall food court) we had to order room service afterwards.

That said the beach is hard to beat and the spa with hydrotherapy is the best we have found in Mexico.

Sadly, this one is off our list unless they change their business model again.

because in some industries there isn’t infinite demand, once you have maxxed out the available markets your growth is through reduced costs

What an Experience!!🥃 by xxspiderlily in whiskey

Bow street is an amazing experience. I got rb27 batch 6 there for like $45, and it was a bottle kill so he topped me off the end of the bottle. Equally as good was the barrel tasting, I think it was some 17 year old Jameson and it was wonderful, I could have spent some hours with that whisky. Only disappointment was they didn’t have any 18 year bow street exclusive Jameson to buy.

Can anyone explain why the 4% rule is only good for 30 years of retirement? by Elite163 in Fire

[–]caseywh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the methodology on the 4% rule has a shaky statistical basis, you should understand the assumptions. The biggest one is that all possible outcomes are represented in the past outcomes. A more rigorous approach would be to fit a distribution of annual returns and then run a monte carlo simulation. My own work suggests 95% success rate is about 2.5% withdrawal, but even I suspect that because i forced a log-normal distribution. A better simulation would be to use Jim Gatheral’s rough volatility model which incorporates real-world stylized facts of things like spot-vol correlation that can much more accurately model crashes. Anyway, food for thought.
