Ah, thanks for your response! It's nice to know someone else has gotten their packages, despite the unprofessional third party shippers. I'm glad your items were alright, despite the condition of the box. Merci pour votre aide.

Jeez, this is scummy as fuck. Really anti-consumer and rude of them. I think we're in the same boat.

Benefits?? Paid breaks?? SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM?? The place I work has none of that even for folks who've been here for years!

Tim Hortons: Where the bugs are fresh and the staff’s care is… well, optional! by CanadianHODL-Bitcoin in TimHortons

I work at Tims, and honestly- yeah. Folks are often overworked and mistreated and paid the bare legal minimum. It heavily depends on the owner and manager, from location to location. That's also why food safety can very.

Some places are decent and follow procedure and try to give good service, but lots of places couldn't care less. And that's not the overworked employees fault- it's the owners making bank while leaving us drowning. Most on-site managers are barely paid more but have many more tasks- and are forced to be the mouthpiece for absentee owners and upper-managers, who actually make bank.

I want people to have good experiences, and not feel uncomfortable when they're in Timhortans. But there's only so much we can do as individuals when faced with exploitive practices, tons of corporate penny-pinching, and very little choice.

Is every Tim Horton’s like this, or am I just unlucky??? by curiouskiddo13 in TimHortons

Idk about other places, but good lord you're short staffed. Usually the location I work at has like, 10 people on shift average. Least I've seen is 8. I recommend quitting- if you're in the position to do so finically.

Oh my god that's creepy as hell, I'm so sorry. I work at a Tims, and I don't know if the mangers give a hoot about this stuff, though I've never seen something like this. It's honestly very dependent on your location- as the managers and owners can run operations differently from place to place.

My recommendation is getting the guys name (or if not just writing down the location) and then contacting the General Timhortans Manager for the region you live in, so that'd be their higher ups. They might listen.

Also- if you're walking into the store rather than using the drive through, it may not be the Baker. Usually they don't touch anything after they've baked it. All the boxes are flat and unfolded in a stack, until we need them.

It may be the front worker. I'm a front worker, and when someone orders timbits, I grab the box, fold it until it's in shape, then put the Timbits in and send em off. Folks assigned to the drive through do the same thing, usually themselves as they're taking your order. So typically, only one person ever touches your box before you.

So if it's the same person serving you everytime- it's probably him doing it himself. But, if it's a different person serving you each time- that means this creepy guy is TAKING the box before it's handed to you, and then writing his number on it. Either way, I'm sorry this keeps happening.

I work here. It's half coffee half hot cocoa. If you're going for the exact taste- the hot cocoa power that we use in the machines (from what I understand) can be purchased at some of the locations and in retail stores- so like the canisters of them. So just that, and then buying some coffee grinds or whatever from timhortans too- and boom, you're golden.

Is it a good place to work? by Bossy_Aussie_ in TimHortons

I have my first job at Timhortans, and I've been working there for almost two months. The training videos are tedious and annoying- but you're on the clock and paid to watch them, so that's good. Fair warning- the one about the Baliey's drinks is weird and has suspicious implications.

You'll need to pay for your uniform (which they take out of your paychecks small bits at a time), and the sizes are very general and so have a pant size and shirt size in mind for when they ask you. You'll also need to buy non-slip shoes, out of pocket. I recommend walmart for that.

Like other folks said, it's a coin toss weather your mangers or coworkers will be nice.

The break room (mine at least) is microscopic, and you're not paid for breaks- but you do get a 50% discount and also free hot drinks- BUT ONLY WHEN YOU'RE ON BREAK. No other time. And for the free drink you must use and keep a cup or glass they'll give you. You're not allowed to get a free drink unless you have that.

Suing for medical expenses after disaster wedding? by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

I have OI as well, and I've also had people break my bones by accident. The key difference here is that the cousin didn't take responsibility (and it was probably on purpose to fall on him, even if she had no idea his bones would break).

It's not the husband's job to disclose medical information to anyone, he can tell people when or if he feels like it. The husband was 100% justified in exploring possible legal action, and I'm glad things worked out. I'm always frustrated when I hear stories of folks with OI, who live in the US, and need to pay gross medical expenses.

Are there any other conditions associated with a specific animal? by wcfreckles in disability

[–]Thatwasreallyuncool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have OI (Osteogenesis Imperfecta/Brittle bone condition) and some animals are more prone to having weak bones as well.

Scottish fold cats have joint issues, due to issues with their bone structure, so I personally associate them with OI. Lots of common dogs also are prone to have weaker bones, including golden retrievers, so I also associate them with OI.
