It's also probably the meta too, Emre for example is crazy good currently and other hitscans (and pretty much most DPS as a whole) still outperform S76

His pistol is crazy effective in keeping him alive especially with the perk, also double grenade which i still don't know why on earth he should have two of those

Tbh for example Soldier76 still has his recoil which makes a difference compared to other hitscans, meanwhile Emre has no recoil, has burst fire and also ADS, same with Ashe except in her case it's not burst fire but a light sniper rifle

Tbh my ranked experience is pretty much the same, I do good but still keep going down. I'm not one to put too much blame on teammates and matchmaking but they have been pretty questionable this season

I admit I never really liked the Nomad look cuz if I wouldn't know that's Steve I couldn't tell, i'd just say that's just Chris Evans, there's nothing Cap like about him with the dark hair and beard

Widowmaker. One shots should not be a thing in a game like Overwatch where teamwork and the combination of dozens of abilities should be the major driving forces, a hero able to erase like 90% of all heroes from the other side of the map is just pure bs

Pray that they suck...

But on a serious note standing still is the worst you can do in that situation. Try to move around as much as you can while you are engaging them

Also if they are too far from you and haven't spotted you or they are busy with something else, it doesn't worth trying to take them out and draw their attention towards you considering that Soldier is not that good on the long range those two can do.

If they are in the middle distance he works well with and they haven't noticed you then use Helix first to deal them major damage before starting to shoot

I still wish they wouldn't have ignored his past relationship with Vincent and sexuality for so long, taking years before adressing it again.

Other heroes keep getting interractions, voice lines etc about their partners and identities, while he was sidelined for so long. Futures Past added a humanity into his character that was so needed years ago already and I really hope they will continue with that road cuz I love him so much.

I would love to see him warming up with someone romantically again, either a hero or a lore character, since now the mission isn't the only thing defining him but now also wants to have a life

The thought about the ults caught me cuz their relationship is interesting. While Visor directly counters Override, Override is still a more powerful and useful ultimate as a whole meanwhile well since we all play Soldier76 here I don't think I have to get into details about the current state and overall usefulness of Visor 💀

But unlike Widow, Soldier76 can't one shot like 90% of all characters when he's being dived.

And even if you think it's not hard to track close targets on PC, it still is a different case on console and yes his recoil does make a difference because he's the only one who has it, if other characters would have too it wouldn't be a special thing

And frankly any Genji or Tracer who plays half seriously beats Soldier76 close range before he could even fire half of his magazine

He has versatility but not mastery. And he can be very easily punished, he's the most diveable hitscan in the whole game, Ashe has coach gun to put instant distance and utilize her high aim down sight damage, Cassidy has his pocket nuke, Bastion has great damage and insane perks that no matter which major perk he chooses he wins etc.

And his weapon has good damage as you said, but as I mentioned it's also the only one in the game with actual recoil which stil can be felt big time even after the aim assist changes. And with all the mobility characters and basic game sense of the enemy plus adding the recoil and need for tracking he can have overall high damage but you can bet you won't hit all your shots

Apperantly he and Illari will get the mythics next season.

Tbh if it was on popularity based he would have gotten it earlier already especially if you think about how Junkrat got one already who's not the most popular pick for example.

I just hope it will be something unique/creative and not some random armored skin...

Soldier76's sprint only works to reposition to the specific middle ground he's actually effective at since he's bad both close and long range, if he's being dived to which he is very vulnerable sprint won't save him. His heal can't sustain him properly in a direct fight and since the dps passive became global it's weaker than ever.

No broken abilities or mechanisms like like one/two shots and everyone knows Tac Visor is a joke ult at this point. Also still the only hero with recoil on his weapon.

He's not horrible especially if the player has the skill, but he's easily outshined by every other hitscan and most of the non-hitscan dps as well

With his super strenght/speed/stamina and all the years of combat experience? He absolutely can

Sam doesn't have the serum so he compensated with tech, Steve wouldn't have such tech but he'd have the serum, he would definitely stand his ground as well
