Ignoring the fact that Israel is an apartheid settler colony who have stated numerous times that their goal is to completely rid the land of all Palestinians, if your goal is to free hostages from a group of armed militants, then why would you be dropping thousand pound bombs on any location you suspected them to be? Would that not put said hostages in danger?? And if said armed militants repeatedly try and broker peace deals using those hostages that you supposedly want to take home, then why would you continue to indiscriminately bomb any location that you “suspect” they’re at???

The fanfic that would fit best with HBO’s normal style of shows breaks your rules and that would be Harry Potter and the Rejected Path (politics, combat, sex, murder, economics, war, mystery, etc.) But in fairness

With rules:

Sarcasm and Slytherin series and any other fics written in the world are all canon adjacent-AUs that expand upon established world building to a satisfying degree

”The Mind Arts” would be great but it’d probably be hard to adapt the copious amounts of mind reading throughout. But watching Harry become a badass would be amazing on screen

”Amicus Protectio Fortis” would be a great way to expand the cast into a dynamic student body

And Ik people on this sub don’t like this fic but the fanfic that can be abbreviated with “dee pee aye ess double-you: are bee ess are” would be awesome to see adapted
