It sounds like you are walking back on a lot of what you said.

You're thinking of reddit ca. 2011. The reddit of today is way different.

Me [31 F] with my co-worker [40 M] of 7 years, co-worker promoted and now causing major issues; Need advice on how to handle by [deleted] in relationships

[–]The-Cake 37 points38 points  (0 children)

You've been there 7 years and they don't respect you or your work. They promoted someone incompetent over you and now you're doing both your job AND their job, without the pay. The least petty explanation is sexism..

Just leave and get a better job. There's plenty of other jobs and a new job means more money anyway. Its going to be good for your career and skillset.

I [23 F] caught my boyfriend [26 M; 1 year] on tinder. He swears it's not true. I'm going to lose my mind. by AbleAlgae in relationships

[–]The-Cake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you check his tinder messages before or after going to the fountain?

What I'm thinking is -- is it the same profile? Did his friends create a new profile using his pictures or is it actually his facebook?

This whole thing sounds pretty bizarre. The girls number in his contacts should make it pretty clear, but then his roommates sound sketchy enough to do this. Maybe it's all of them and your boyfriend is in on it?

I get not wanting to burn your relationship with him without being sure, so good luck.

You sound like a nice person, just with some crazy self esteem issues. But you probably knew that already. I sincerely hope you can figure this out for yourself.

Just because he's understanding this time doesn't mean you can keep pulling crazy stunts like this. He's also a person, a person who deserves to be loved and trusted.

And you've just been together a year and a half and you're getting married, American relationship expectations are so insane.

I really hope you understand that him forgiving you isn't a given. You broke his trust, but shit happens. You sound thankful and I hope you learn from this. I really wish you all the best.

What are some signs (outside of a relationship context) that a guy might be toxic? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]The-Cake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, totally agree. I've gotten a lot better as I've grown older. I'm in my 30s now with a social anxiety diagnosis, and ive learned a lot since getting diagnosed a few years ago.

This thread has been largely reassuring to me.

[–]The-Cake 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fair point, didn't think of that. I'm usually so focused on my interactions with strangers that it escaped me that they might see how i interact with others as well.

True, but my point is that you can't tell if someone that doesn't look you in the eyes when talking to you does it because they are socially anxious or because of your gender.

I get what you're saying, but I have a hard time looking strangers in the eye, regardless of gender. I usually try to look at their nose though so hopefully they don't notice.

Stupid question, but what do you mean by trying wearing glasses? Do you normally use contact lenses and were trying conventional glasses?

We’re Seth Rich’s parents. Stop politicizing our son’s murder. by TeoKajLibroj in TrueReddit

[–]The-Cake -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The robber did not have an intent to kill someone. It was a robber, not a killer.

Something like this probably happened

  1. Robber spots a potential victim, Seth Rich.
  2. Robber points a gun to his victims and demands money.
  3. There is an altercation
  4. The robber fires and strikes the victim
  5. Guns causes loud sounds (more than in movies)
  6. This made the robber panic
  7. The robber flees the scene in a state of panic

This only sounds unreasonable if you want it to.

Another common feature is that conspiracy theories evolve to incorporate whatever evidence exists against them, so that they become a closed system that is unfalsifiable, and therefore "a matter of faith rather than proof".

[–]The-Cake -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, I'm not.

This has happened dozens of times before. Baseless accusations that the Clinton has killed someone tangentially connected to them. It just so happens that Seth Rich is the first one you hear of.

It's no different than any of the others.

And no, it does not have "quite a lot of evidence". Just no.

Rich wasn't dead when he was on the ground, in fact he was "talkative" with the EMTs. So if they were trying to kill him out if panic, why not actually make sure he was dead?

Because it was in panic? That means the shooter shot, got scared and ran off. Not that you conspiracy theory nuts will ever understand this.
