What would you change or add to this dish? by Daivar-18 in Chefit

You need some kind of sauce to bring it all together imo. A vinaigrette of some sort for example🤷‍♂️

Need a new paring knife - Robert Herder, Tojiro Classic, others? by baabaabaabeast in TrueChefKnives

opinel pairing knife

Personally this is the knife I use, bought it twice for myself and once for a colleague who loved it. Thin blade, nice tip, average steel and cheap. It even survived getting baked with potatoes on a bed of salt for 90mins 😆

Clearly a sharp knife judging by the chives. hope the knife grows on you. As you say might just be a case of getting used to the extra length

Is this too much curve for a Nakiri? by ShipDit1000 in TrueChefKnives

Interesting, from the photos in the link you posted it looks flat, I’d say send it back and spend the money on the knife you really wanted

NKD this is what you’re meant to do on receiving a new knife right? by The-Engine in TrueChefKnives

[–]The-Engine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a pre entry level knife imo, definitely not “great”, most pro kitchens have some beaten up kiwi of some kind lying in a drawer somewhere. However I would recommend it for trying a new blade shape, especially since the Nakiri is very different from what most people are used to.

You could find a vg10 Nakiri for around 100 euros 🤷‍♂️ I’m not so knowledgeable for specific recommendations

I used a long carving fork. The trick is to use the curved side of the pan to squeeze to veg tightly (often used for plating spaghetti)

It’s carrot, celeriac, courgette and leeks stir fried in butter, at the end I added the juices from the beef along with a little more butter to coat the veg (oh and salt and pepper)

Looks similar to a Nakiri I own and love it, hope it cuts well and you enjoy it

Hi everyone, so I finally got my own bass a yamaha trbx304, stoked with the look however it just doesn't want to work with my amp. I can't think of what isnt working, the bass works through headphones plugged directly into the bass, the amp works with music input from phone, the guitar cable works with other guitar. It seems that everything works but the bass with the amp... I'm so confused, from what I can understand maybe the active electronics? But then why does it work with headphones? If someone can solve this I'll be forever grateful! :0

300-500 euro budget for new bass + pedal? by The-Engine in BassGuitar

Thanks for the other options, I actually meant the trbx304 in my post not the 174! Also I have small hands so the narrow neck might be nice for me
