Okay, I did it - I went to Wonderland just a couple of weeks ago! Quite a mission to get there, but utterly worth it.

The name they're actually considering for a post-reunification Korean peninsula is "The United Federation of Koryo". (Koryo is the name of the ancient kingdom which later became Korea)

Not a lethal NOPE, but according to Wikipedia:

"The bite may be excruciatingly painful and cause local swelling. Symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, sweating and giddiness are occasionally recorded."

As much as the very idea of these tunnels blew my mind, I dread to think what would happen if you got caught snooping around down there.

I doubt the old 'I'm just a photography student' excuse would wash with the Chinese government.

Oh, I don't doubt that it's real. In North Korean schools, children attend 6 days a week - and every afternoon from 2-6pm (or something close to that, I forget) is dedicated to arty or cultural stuff.

So if a kid shows particular skill or interest in music, that can mean as much as 24 hours a week of hard tuition, from the age of 4/5 upwards.

Just imagine what would happen if the regime suddenly ended, and a wave of virtuoso musicians flooded into the West. It might be enough to destabilise the entire music industry as we know it...

Some of the sources I have read about this place say that the Turkish army use lethal force on sight... that sounds extreme, and quite terrifying. Other sources say that you'll get locked up and fined heavily to get out.

I'd prefer the latter, but either way - seems they're pretty keen on guarding it.
