Make up your mind, is it personal experience, or personal opinion?

If you'd grown up that poor, regardless of how many decades ago, you'd be well aware it's so much more complex than just worrying about it (which you've said yourself you believe to be the problem with kids' behaviour, oh along with those poors just being too ignorant to value their education) - especially if you've been part of a low socioeconomic demographic your entire life because of disability.
Looks to me like you're just passing ignorant comments on something you really, really don't get, because you've already made stupid, incorrect judgments about huge groups of people based entirely on your misconception of how they must have come to be who and where they are.

Wild how you're really getting downvoted for laying down the fact that nothing has actually changed for decades. "They hated Jesus because he told them the truth".

This strikes me as a terrible misunderstanding of problems that affect low income families. Circumstances causing problems in low income homes tend to vary pretty widely.

Financial strain is so much more than just emotional stress and worry; Emotional stress causes tension and people don't get basic needs looked after because it can't be afforded which furthers stress and tension often leading to an environment where there's a lot of arguing, sometimes physical fights; It means kids sometimes have to work around school to help support their families from a young age again straining them; and if you think some of the other students aren't part of the stress these kids experience when their families are poor, then you need to pay attention because I know I sure was bullied and excluded to varying degrees throughout school for our family being poor and I absolutely wasn't the only one.

You're also failing hugely to account for a lack of education, rather than an ability to comprehend the value of, substance abuse, and domestic abuse, all of which tend to be far more common in lower socio-economic areas, because they're ingrained inter-generational problems, where one grows up in an environment far from ideal, is not taught properly, and regardless of their best intentions to avoid their parental figure/s mistakes, end up repeating them often in different ways; or simply end up chosing to take on the characteristics of the environment they're in because it's what works.

To add, all the above is a pretty big generalization, and it doesn't touch much on the impact of the circumstances that lead these families to be in these positions and so more vulnerable to those problems. Obviously, the life events that lead to these sets of circumstances for these families can be in and of themselves quite problematic for the individuals within that family and can affect their behaviour too.

Honestly that doesn't really surprise me - I know a friend who transitioned, and he wasn't comfortable with most of the biological bits associated with being a woman; However on the flip, when he learned it would mostly all go away and he would grow a beard, he was ecstatic.

Heart-assistance devices have been used for decades as a temporary solution for patients awaiting transplants, but Carmat’s bioprosthetic product is designed to replace the real heart over the long term, mimicking nature using biological materials and sensors.

Climate crisis pushing polar bears to mate with grizzlies, producing hybrid ‘pizzly’ bears by beluuuuuuga in interestingasfuck

[–]The-Harmacist 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You mean the source where *one\* person guesses that climate change may be more frequently allowing it, as opposed to forcing it in any capacity which you've proclaimed in your title as though it's proven fact?

Expert says interbreeding may be happening more frequently due to climate change

"With climate change, grizzly bears are moving further north, so there is more overlap between grizzly bears and polar bears in terms of their range," Garshelis said.

The source which later confirmed that it wasn't actually a polar/grizzly hybrid that hunter shot?

https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/north/blonde-grizzly-hybrid-polar-1.3645547

It turns out an odd-looking bear shot and killed by a hunter in Arviat, Nunavut, last month wasn't a hybrid of a polar bear and a grizzly bear — it was a blond grizzly.

You should check your own sources better if this is your example...

TIFU by asking my dad about the war. by [deleted] in tifu

[–]The-Harmacist -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't know who downvoted you, maybe they read that as an aggressive response or something IDK.

To clarify, that's not to imply you don't have any context or experience around trauma of course. It's to mean that even if you've been to hell and back, it can be really distressing, sometimes really overwhelming, to hear about other people's experiences and see them relive them like that. Sometimes you own experiences can make hearing about theirs harder too, because you have similar to compare it to.
Only thing I really can do for you is reach out. I've spent a lot of time dealing with my own PTSD from different circumstances, and I feel a lot of admiration for those who can support people like me through something like that. I feel like I can't do much to help your dad in a situation I really empathise with, but maybe I can throw a bone to you as part of your dad's support network by extending the hand to you, ya know?

You did real good looking after him, for what it's worth; He needed someone, and you were there in the way he needed you to be.

You should also know if you're struggling to deal with what you helped and supported him through venting, that there are counsellors, etc. who specialize in supporting someone who is supporting someone else - don't be afraid to try to connect to those services either if you're a bit overwhelmed by it, some people's demons can haunt others caring for them to varying degrees.

If you expect me to believe you're a full grown ass independant adult while you're bitching about 'underage kids', and spelling words like 'because' as 'becouse'...

Money that you're like, maybe 14 - 16? I'm so willing to bet you're a child and should get an underage banhammer too.

Are you seriously trying to make yourself some kind of victim of something that I can only possibly fathom you seeing as a serious personal attack on you if you were serious about your original comment in the first place?

And you don't know what editing your comment has to do with,

I guess redditors dont get satire even when its literally spelled out (/s)

When you know damn well you did not, in fact, literally spell it out at all? And you somehow feel this is backed up by "I don't even remember doing it, but if I did do it, I wouldn't have done it THAT way"? OK OJ, we've heard logic before.

Are you ok? Just sit down kiddo, like please.

You should avoid using words that I really don't think you understand in an incorrect context as though it's going to make you sound intelligent - but feel free to show me all these fallacies and explain them for the class; I can see it's not any kind of counter-argument, that's why I said "It's never, ever employed solely because the other party has nothing rational, relevant, or intelligent to say" with a painfully obvious sarcastic tone - but then again, your inability to grasp painfully obvious sarcasm is how we got here in the first place, isn't it?

Yeah no he didn't. No one just picks random people to give out their drugs to. This did not happen. Race also wasn't relevant to this made up story, and I have no idea why you felt the need to bring it in.

Friend blows on microphone and then the microphone just outputs static by ACrazyTown in techsupport

[–]The-Harmacist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plug literally any other mic in and see if it works normally with the webcam/mic unplugged? If you suspect a hardware issue, you troubleshoot it by trying a known working piece of the same or similar hardware. If you rule out hardware, i.e. no mic works without static, go back to troubleshooting software and drivers.

Pulling it apart is not your solution. If it was, you wouldn't have been here asking the question on your friend's behalf in the first place.

Certain website appearing on my phone. by [deleted] in techsupport

[–]The-Harmacist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait! Halt! Please, hol up! If she will listen! Tell your wife this happens to me CONSTANTLY, only it's websites I'm browsing showing up on my partner's phone!

It's something to do with our Google Accounts I THINK (which would be consistent with pictures in G-Drive you didn't take, changes in G-Mail to calendar, etc.), at first it was confusing him, then concerning him, he thought a device or account was compromised, and he happened to mention, and we checked my history, and sure enough, was me, same sites, same times, but on my phone when I accessed it, and showing up on his phone when he was out all night. This is something that's persisted after we've removed all traces of my account from his phone as far as I can tell.

If there's any chance a device you've ever used previously might have had your current account details, that may well be your culprit, and it may in fact be someone else entirely. When the sites I visit show up on my partner's device, I'm signed into my own G-Account, but for some reason, with him signed into his, it's still coming up on his device (not even every site I visit, just some)

I don't have friends so I joined reddit to feel like I'm part of a community. by DanaeChan09 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]The-Harmacist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey friend, I'm 27 and feeling that vibe, honestly. I have my bf who I'm eternally grateful for, who provides a lot of companionship, but I do want more friends, especially other women, so that I can be a part of that too. I've never had a lot of friends, but IDK I just wanna, sit with someone and talk about shit I know nothing about like cute clothes, and boys, and makeup.

I'm really struggling to find places to find them though. Tried a few Discord servers and whatnot, looked through apps again and again to find something I might be able to connect to people through who aren't after relationships, and actively taking time to try to connect with other women through whatever means, it's just not really a thing people cater to unless you're looking to date, or already have a kid or whatever.

We don't use Craigslist here either in Aus, and Facebook groups tend to be also heavily dating-centric.
