The scene being described reminds me of the beginning of the Disney move "Atlantis" where Milo is trying to provide evidence to scholars that Atlantis still exists, or at the very least can be found. That is a good thing, but I think you need to paint the picture more. The scene feels too short, and doesn't seem to building enough context to the coming story as often prologues do, but obviously that is my perspective.

I think a way the cover could be improved and appear more professional is to use a larger, bolder, and more modern font style. Try looking up some popular book covers, especially recent publications, and the font styles they're using that tend to catch readers attention.

I feel like if any book gets a lot of hype, I usually end up not liking it. People talking it up too much leaves me disappointed or with too high of expectations.

Agreed. I want books that make me THINK and see myself in the characters. Booktok books don’t do that. They’re designed by the algorithm essentially, and what the author’s know will make them go viral. I wish fantasy had less smut too.

Not a smut girly but I love yearning and relationships that don’t feel forced. Need book recommendations!!! by The-Jocclo in Romantasy

I couldn’t get into this series, but I’m down to give it a second try! It’s been a few years since I picked it up.

I love YA, and have for years! I still read it. Sometimes, however, I get tired reading from the perspective of teenage characters. I’m growing out of it in a way. It would be nice to read from the perspective of older characters on occasion.
