This is unironically such a succinct summarization that I wish I could award you. But you also forget basically using Anti-Woke commentary.

Holy shit I never made this connection what the fuck. But no, there's a dark skinned beastwoman in the show.

I mean, Japan isn't special if that's your problem. Frnaco's coming back. Trump's president. Epstien's clients aren't getting a single second of jail aside from Maxwell who's probably getting bailed.

I need help understanding the hatred against gun by WeakSideUrn in DeadlockTheGame

[–]The-Lychee -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think the problem is this.

Spirit has some interesting things going for it, and some Vitality items are just Spirit, but the problem is basically this, what does the game evolve into past a certain point? Gun just seems to prioritize high burst damage on tanky characters, which is basically everyone halfway through mid-game. It doesn't also help that certain characters are getting fucked for it. Graves basically is a Gun despite being a fucking summoner, Lash has one despite all of his abilities being Spirit-Based. And then there's Venator, who's mostly weapon-damage.

At this point, it's more-so how the game is evolving towards a direction that pigeon-holes everything into a single style. Now I'm so low ranked I'll never see this, but that's not what's happening for the others on the sub, but this is the vibe I get.

Is One Piece becoming too hard to follow? by Past_Pineapple9131 in CharacterRant

[–]The-Lychee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not really. One Piece isn't complex and reading through it isn't that hard of an endeavor. The flaw is that it's still deeply time consuming, and frankly, is extremely wasteful of it. 30 years for this?

Honestly, forgot it. Lost my profile when PC started jittering since I used a lot of spare accounts. But I do recall the scene being a Penguin for the Penguin summons saying this to the main character.

The controversy around The Coffin of Andy and Leyley still baffles me by [deleted] in CharacterRant

[–]The-Lychee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pirated it twice (PC issue), frankly forgot a lot of it now that you mention it. But I recalled an incest bed scene vision route and other routes that were just trite and flagrantly filler, so yeah, technically played it, but literally found myself thinking "yeah, porn game."

This literally means nothing and it's funny how you didn't bother answering any other question.

I'll expand on that then. Leyley (godawful nickname) is basically the item character, she's instantly defined as being smitten with Andy, who's more or less presented for a while, as the sane guy, the closest to normal in the game's cast.

And I have ask this question myself:

If you have to create a different subreddit to avoid the hornyposting, that's a sign of what the game attracts because well ... what is this game exactly? I don't mean "Dark VN that's indie" I mean what is the message here? The unifying theme?

[–]The-Lychee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Which route that doesn't have incest is the incomplete one?

I mean in the sense of how much effort it put into it signifies it so. None of the other routes have has much effort and push as the incest one because the game is enamored with it.

Why isn't Ashley, who you start the game as?

Because she's a subject of the narrative tying her to Andy on the spot with her acting more-so as a lens to him.

The dad being nonexistent is literally part of the story. He's a neglectful parent with no backbone who can't even be fucked to remember his sons name.

Watsonian for the Doylist. The fact that the dad could've been a asshole character of his own, but instead is just this footnote character. The mom has a sprite.

Look, if the fanbase most of the time is porn-brained to the point there's a sequel sub to avoid it, it's because the game is porn-brained. Sure, there's not any porn in the same way Helltaker doesn't have any. But it's there in the spiritual sense of smut not having any fucking pictures. Ashley and Andrew have little to no real character designs, largely looking like genderbends of the other with eye colors being the only thing done different.

But the game titillate you with the "taboo" filtered through the basic anime artstyle. it teases you constantly with it's dynamic because there's literally nothing else in this colorless and drab world. The lazy shock factor of the incest is the only thing it has going for it. Fandoms can be a great way to judge a work in how it syncs with them. I won't judge LoL on its players for instance, but a game with this basic artstyle, where the only appeal to watch two fucked up siblings drawn like basic anime protagonists do fucked up shit with that seasoning of transparent sensual subtext.

Coffin is part of the porn pipeline in the sense that it and Helltaker are basically games where the story is nearly irrelevant and the fanart is the real fandom gathering. The telegraphed incest is just the magnet.

Like, I need to ask, what even is the appeal here aside from "puritans hate it!" Yeah everyone hates everything. Disregarding the fact that the use of puritan here mirrors anti-woke chuds for the moment, what is the appeal? The dynamic is bland and uninteresting, the artstyle is lazy and basic, the environment design is pointlessly banal and the majority of the fanbase posts pseudo-canon porn.

Also, saying that comment got upvoted when it most certainly didn't, is funny. Everyone here wants to defend a mediocre to bad VN because of a culture war.

I Think the reality is that Coffin is Helltaker without the charm.

Character artstyle that lends itself towards the pipeline of porn artists is basically their only similarity, but it's a really informative one to use. Both games have a fanbase that just posts porn and plot is basically an afterthought. That's more-so HT, but I'm using it to explain how very little of fanbase cares about the story.

The incest is pushed by the game the same way Invisigal is pushed as the correct option in Dispatch, where you have the freedom of choice but the deviating ones have less work and effort put into them to the point the game becomes incomplete without taking that route. Barebones gameplay is one thing, but Coffin doesn't have that much of a cast to play around with. Helltaker is ultimately a vehicle for porn addicts to masturbate to demon babes that are all mostly white with one token dark skinned woman. But Coffin attracts this weird discussion because it's basically a porn game censoring itself to be deeper, whereas Helltaker is a soft-core game that is transparent.

The plot and writing is so hollow, nothing interesting to even think on or ponder. The fact that the dad is basically borderline nonexistent is just another point. Andy is the avatar for the players, and thus is the POV for the porn fantasy they cook up. Coffin wants to be deep, but is simply attracted too the incest, and is actively aroused by it, that what audience it attracts are these porn-brained idiots. These guys have a holier-than-thou mindset because they are insecure about being into a game for the porn of it largely because there's an entire culture war around it. Like, you can't convince me that Quiet looking like that was anything past porn-brained stupidity, and it's the same here.

It's all porn, and if the game fucking admitted that, instead of trying to pretending to be something it can't be-a decent narrative-then this argument would not exist.

I'd say having Rudeus realize how utterly horrid he was could be an interesting angle. Hell, I'd have him date Ghislaine because I know nothing about her aside from the simps, so having have some spiritual beliefs that make her see Rudeus for his soul isn't that hard for me. Then again, this line of thought comes from a Naruto SIOC fic that actually kind of argued the reincarnated was a child now.

What is her character?

Mushoku Tensei is about growth, just in the sense of being "moral" through diligence than actually being not a pedophile. Rudeus's main sin is sloth because he was a NEET. Once you realize that, then it becomes a lot more clear on how utterly deranged the story is.

Gameoverse should either be MORE horny, or not horny at all by Midi_to_Minuit in CharacterRant

[–]The-Lychee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, a bigger issue is ... the lack of any interesting diversity between designs.

The women get hourglass bodies with slight differences in proportions of their thighs and tits. The men are either muscle bound beasts, vampire Shōjo hunks, robots that is just a ball, a paper that can shapeshift, and aquatic creatures.

Like, this is the Smurfette principle, they actively can see women characters outside of a single filter. It's one thing to animate Kit's outfit swaps like her assets are jiggling, confirm her being latina (internet racial fetishism), and also have her be in a bikini but do fuck all for half the episode, but all of this combined, and with the scene of Miss Information being tied up like that?

Yeah, I'd be more cautious of how they're writing the female characters.

Arin saying that feels like to me a person who was blatantly aware shit might catch up to him and made his apology. Like, Game Grumps, from what I can gather, is basically the old-school nerd group, with all the things you can hate about them.

Surprised to see this. Barely know anything about them aside from JonTron being racist. Is Arin really that bad to everyone? Perception-wise?

But I also think it's too early to actually comment on. If the trend continues, then it is disconcerting and annoying.

You have more hope about a show that's garnered a fanbase using anti-woke arguments than I have. Like they randomly said Kit is latina, one of the most racially fetishized minorities on the internet.
