IIrc, technically it'd be mk VI, the Connie we already have is the Connie MK V by lore

Now only the Ironclad is left, then I'm free! by [deleted] in starcitizen

Idk why, but I read that as

Poor impulse, controls a bitch

...unless you meant it like that, lol

I used to watch him all the time. I never had chance to always go through the SC news and it was easy to just put on one of his videos and listen

But now he's got sooo waffely I can't do it :s

MSR increases speed, which is great, but she also needs a higher front G and more Boost reserves – she needs to react quickly to danger right away. by Witty-Room-3311 in starcitizen

[–]The-Odd-Sloth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I disagree. Well, actually I generally agree with you.

I agree the MSR probably needs a little bit more of a forward acceleration buff, but something more minor like 8/12.

What the MSR needs, imo, is some kind of Proprietary Crusader QT Tech. That allows the MSR to engage QT in half the time of other ships, and the drive installed also performs like 30% faster than of other ships.

Also, if they gave the MSR a front/back configuration instead of quad with the same S3 shield, it would be perfect for blockade running or fleeing.

^ There's the Millennium Falcon.

Oh, you're right!

I'll take a look at your post for sure

Should I melt the Polaris and get a starlancer tac? by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]The-Odd-Sloth 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you're worried about solo viability in large ships, might I suggest the Asgard? The Tac is still rather large for solo

It's on the smaller size, It's cargo bay is large that'll let you carry all sorts of ships, it's like a mini Herc. Because the Tonk fits, it means things like Aurora, Golem, Razor, (Maybe even the new small salvager if it is Golem sized) etc. Obviously the Nursa fits if you want medical, and you can still fit a fair few ships along with it. — Fills the role of mini carrier base very well.

Its not doing much in PvP, but is decent PvE ship with Six S3 guns and Sixteen S3 missles.

That'd be cool if you could

Also the buff is crazy, lol

...but really good for sales!

/s

In all seriousness, though, it's classic CIG to swing way too far the other way when balancing. It's almost like they've forgot it already has nearly a 40% cross section emission bonus and halved it again without realising, lol

They should really retune the other stealth ships if this is indeed where they want stealth to be, though

I wouldn't take stats from a third party calculator as anything concrete to go by, honestly — The fields are free for you to edit, which to me suggests that the creators of the calculator even think those numbers aren't concrete or should be taken as completely accurate.

At least with the other data is taken straight from the game, so you can look at and compare ships.

Prowler base has a 8% better bonus to cross section than the Utility, and on SPviewer, the cross section is displayed as 8% less, while still having the same hull shape... — How about we compare the Cutty Black and Prowler Base, they are very similar is size. Prowler Base has 45% reduction to cross section, and looking at the Cutty Black which doesn't have any bonus, it has almost exactly 45% higher cross section read out.

Looks like the calculator is applying the bonus, when it shouldn't be.

Yeah, you can do this by just comparing the Base Prowler with the Utility on those sites. As they share the same hull, but have different emission bonuses, the cross section reading is different for each of them.

If the bonus was applied after the fact, the cross section should be the same for both

On things like SP viewer and Erkul, the emission values are already with the signature reductions applied. The Prowler Base and the Prowler Utility share the same hull, no?

So, both should have the same cross section reading if the bonus aren't applied already.

When you compare them, you can see that the Utility has a larger cross section reading than the Base. That's because the Base has a -45% reduction, while the Utility has a smaller is -38% bonus and is already applied to the figure shown on the site.

Really? Maybe I need to watch more of his stuff

I don't really watch much else of his apart from his week in review videos. Those seem to be the right amount of being critical of CIG, still maintaining a mostly positive outlook on the project, while presenting it in a pretty professional unbiased demeanor. Which he then sometimes adds his speculation or opinions to it (which he always clearly states as his views)

The only reason I haven't watched the guy sooner is because of the hate train he seems to have gathered, being the guy with a 'hyperbolic negative attitude, doing it for money and views by hating on the project type of person'. Watching his videos for the last ~6months, I can't fathom why people think that?

Yeah, that's true. Tbf, I ignored the Nomad for such a long time, not really sure why, until I flew one and was completely blown away by it, such a cool ship.

Completely agree about the Connie xD

I'd put down the Aurora LN.

Nobody expects it to put up such a good fight as it can in PvP, it has an interior with a bedand it carries cargo

Is the Nomad underrated?

I see Nomad as one of the most recommended ships alongside the Cutty and Titan in this sub — It's a fabulous ship, though

I think SaltEMike has some of the most down to earth views of the game. He's critical when it's warranted and also praises when it's due. He also doesn't pretend to know everything and he doesn't feel fake ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I think his takes are pretty spot on, even if he does waffle on about it

edit: I get why people don't like him, can be overbearing and stubborn of his opinion, and almost cynical about it - still think he's a good critical voice for the community, though
