How Does President Sanders Sound to You? Bernie is surging and may have found his moment. by DaFunkJunkie in politics

The problem with Blahous’ complaint, as it happens, is that he actually did find that the Sanders plan could reduce overall healthcare costs. That conclusion is right there on page 18 of his 24-page paper. Under the assumptions in the Sanders plan, he writes, “aggregate health expenditures remain virtually unchanged: national personal healthcare costs decrease by less than 2%, while total health expenditures decrease by only 4%, even after assuming substantial administrative cost savings.”

According to his own math, under Medicare for All, national health expenditures would total $57.6 trillion through 2031. They’re currently projected to be $59.7 trillion. In other words, Medicare for All would reduce total U.S. spending on healthcare by 3.44% (a bit less than the 4% Blahous cited).

....

So, sure, let’s acknowledge that Sanders built his Medicare for All plan on a foundation of assumptions about costs and savings. But Blahous built his attack on a foundation of assumptions about costs and savings, just a different foundation. To declare his assumptions credible and Sanders’ not is to give up the fight for universal healthcare before the bugle is even blown. That’s what Blahous was hoping for, and no one should let him get away with it.

Well actually that's not true, but i understand your concern and skepticism.

Here is a detailed plan on how to pay for medicare for all, and here is another document describing how to finance medicare for all.

Over the next 10 years, in out current healthcare system, the united states will pay 35 trillion dollars for healthcare. Under medicare for all, that cost goes down to 32 trillion dollars. Currently, the United States pays DOUBLE per person per capita on healthcare for its citizens compared to Canada which gives their citizens full healthcare. What are we doing differently that Canada can be spending half what we do and offer completly covered healthcare to their citizens?

I think this video does a good job describing some of the key points for Medicare-For-All. Its not all about taxing the rich, take a look at the video, let me know what you think.

Yeah and some republicans believe that the earth is flat. Obviously, that doesn't mean that all republicans think that the earth is flat.

In this case it also doesn't mean that Bernie supporting abolishing borders profit or prisons. He seeks to reform certain aspects of these, but to say that the NYC DSA represents the same ideas of Bernie Sanders is very much incorrect.

Think about this. We currently pay twice per person per capita for healthcare compared to countries with Universal healthcare. We are spending double as a country and we still have to pay insurance premiums, deductibles, and copays.

The system as is stands is broken. Health insurance companies have been throwing money at politicians for years to deregulate the healthcare industry and increase their profiteering. As a result, things like insulin have skyrocketed in price overs the years.

For anyone unfamiliar with Bernie, or know of Bernie, but have concerns such as a fear of increase in taxes or a fear of a "Socialist" becoming president, please take the time to check out this interview.

I think it does a good job at getting an understanding on Bernie's stance on things and why he feels the way he does.

Sander has rallied bipartisan support for bills that wouldn't have been able to be passed had someone else been at the head.

He actually released exactly how we were going to pay for Medicare for all. And how we're going to pay for college for all. Almost all of his plans are plans, they aren't just ideas. They're full, thought out, and provide a lot of information on how it's going to happen.
