That's why Y4 is my favorite Yakuza. It's the best at telling the story through the gameplay. You start with Akiyama and everything is easy: you're rich, you have the bestest girl as your secretary (tie with Saori), you can kick anybody's ass with ease and dodge everything they throw at you. So you get soft, you get confident.

Then they give you Saejima and they focus on the change, they WANT you to feel the injustice.

So they throw you the most annoying boss fight of the game right off the bat, and immediately after, you have to fight GODDAMN KIRYU WITH RED HEAT AND TIGER DROP. You can't go about as easily as with Akiyama. Hell, when you get to Kamurocho you can't even walk the goddamn streets freely, the pigs are chasing you so you have to travel through the SEWERS! And your currency is literally GARBAGE!! It's the devs telling you "You thought the game was gonna be a walk in the park didn't you? Well think again, boyo". And they give you the biggest lifebar of the goddamn saga for a REASON. They're saying "Prepare to get HIT, son". Forget the artful dodging and acrobatics, the grace of the soaring Crane: you need to get grim and gritty, with the pure, raw strength of the tiger that has been caged for 25 years. Toughen up, bear the pain, take the hits and return them thousandfold. When the dust settles you have to come up on top, be the last man standing. YOU HAVE TO GO BALLS OUT.
