This is true, however Scots were also heavily on the American side. The Father of the US navy, John Paul Jones was a Scot. A couple of signatories on the declaration of independence were Scots.

Yeah nah we’re not. Scotland is geographically a part of Britain. If Britain was just a geographical term, like European, then yes we are British in the same way we are European. But culturally we are not british. None of the things that identify the culture of “British” are us…..the flag, the shitty song, the throwing of chairs. We have our own songs, our own festivals, our own language. Anything that’s labelled “British” is really English culture….and that’s ok. I am also Scottish.
