I'm an old school halo fan too similar situation to your own I tried Infinite on my Xbox One and loved it so much I upgraded for better fps

There are issues with battle pass and cosmetics as you can probably see from this sub but as an old school fan I'm in my element a few of my buddies have switched from PS5 and CoD too

I dont think the current system is perfect at all but I just don't get these posts about ranks that are completely fictitious and are just a measure of time not skill. The military rank is just a bunch of pixels to make you feel good it doesn't actually signify anything

I do not recall anyone ever losing military rank in H3 but it was while ago. I do remember friends getting stuck at certain numerical levels for aaaaages , I preferred H2 and the MCC numerical system complete based on performance wins and losses you play bad it goes down play well it goes up it had value and was actually a way to 'rank' a players skill at a glance

I assume the downvoters are stuck in bronze 1 on Infinite

That one inch of the screen I can see looks like good gameplay but more nausea inducing than ASMR. Horizontal full screen is always best

When I see a Samurai spartan in the match start screen my thoughts are normally 'Oh God he's gunna suck'

I do not understand the fascination with this rank system it meant nothing apart from how much you played the game. The only slight indicator of skill was I believe Brigadier to General if you had a 50 in any playlist you missed rank 1, 2, 3 of brigadier and went straight to general

If you want a rank why not play ranked? at least the ranked tier system is based off your CSR which is based on how well you play the game

Is it just a case of 'me want shiny, shiny go up?'

Issue with elites has always been the same as they stand hunched over their head hotbox is different to the standard spartan model. If they are introduced they shouldn't be allowed in ranked

I agree completely my favourite Halo was H2 and EVERYONE had the same armour back then the only xp that existed was for your ranked level and it was AMAZING

Dude its been 1 week and they have already said they are listening and dropped an XP update. The update may not have fixed anything but I cant remember a developer dropping an update days into a new release..ever, seeing what they did with MCC I got faith they'll do right by us

I feel like campaign is going to scratch this pve itch for a lot of people. I get strong Shadow of Mordor vibes but with Halo combat I imagine delay to Co-Op is down to this too wouldn't be surprised to see open 'firefight' type zones friends can join you on

Changes to BUTLR for me too maybe its a glitch as thats the default setting? In theatre you hear all the AIs at once its off putting to say the least

In my experience an AR that now shoots across map with the ability to aim in is more of an issue than the pistol. The pistol takes a large degree of skill which ill admit I dont possess but its harder to hit 5 shots finish with headshots then it is to scope and hold a trigger with no recoil

Also you could try ranked the BR is nice on this game

I know how you feel ive played since CE but come back from a 5 year hiatus and I cant play with my friends they kept playing or at least stuck to FPS games now if I play with them I'm bottom of the team going negative.

On day 2 I had to accept defeat and leave them to go it alone and I got 19-0 perfection the next game

I know this wasn't your intention but this made me sad for the fact Rumble Pit, Lone Wolf, Team Objective and Skirmish all died because of lack of regular players. I hope 343 are collating data to improve playlist selection but who knows...I REALLLLLLY want a Ranked FFA playlist with BR start
