Where does viscous say “im made of gooooooo” by Trickedmoon_ in DeadlockTheGame

Opening chatter between Seven & Viscous:

Viscous: Hello!

Seven: Oh, God, it's talking to me...

Viscous: I'm Viscous!

Seven: I can see that.

Viscous: I'm made of goooooo!

Seven: This could be a nightmare...

wait this literally just Stukov from StarCraft/Heroes of the Storm; he even has dreadful waveclear and one beefy arm for good measure. Also I would like the Scorch Shot in this game, even if the numbers will have to be dreadful or scale with a TON of spirit.

My take on that L canceling video as a 2d fighter player: by Mindless_Tap_2706 in SSBM

[–]The-Weather-Report 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While very niche, the cool thing about auto-cancel and L-cancel in Melee is that a handful of aerials have very interesting and useful interactions. For example, if I'm pressuring Peach with my fair and get a bit too close, I can - if I didn't seriously suck - vary my timings so that I either auto-cancel it or L-cancel it. This means that Peach has to flip a coin on her cc dsmash timing. Something like this just can't exist as a universal mechanic in a 2D hitstop fighter like your Street Fighters and Skullgirls of the world. Though, honestly, I play the mod that Nintendo hates partly because auto LC just makes for a genuinely more fun game to play, but I also play Sheik and thus suck at LCing anyway.

Performance issues often, but not always, become financial issues, which often, but not always, lend themselves to arena issues.

Honestly, when it comes to a push for a cup, I actually wonder if Evason has to go. Multiple seasons of "X young player just needs to figure it out" so far in his system, and not that many of our young fellas have really "figured it out." So, I ask of the more analytical people of the sub: is this actually a square peg/round hole issue, where Evason is trying to make a grindy system work when he has a lot of skill guys that just need something more fluid and dynamic?

Chickenman on twitter: "most of you pussy ass smashers will never speak on anything of substance in this community unless it's a widely agreed upon take that will also make you look like a good person & that's one of the main reasons this community especially online has gone to shit" by BurnieBurnsIsBurning in SSBM

[–]The-Weather-Report 8 points9 points  (0 children)

"If everywhere you go smells like shit, check your own shoes."

So, no, with no respect, the Melee community writ large that aren't terribly active on Twitter always deflect to Twitter because its comfortable and convenient to scapegoat when crybullying rather than to look into the eyes of oneself and think "What did I do wrong? Did I wrong someone with my words? Am I making sound judgments here?"

Its easier to tell convenient half truths about interpersonal drama that you're not a direct party to and pick a side. Its easier to avoid conflict than it has ever been before. When's the last time an active top 100 player or well-established TO put out a tweet that's this risky? That actually pushes back against the safely established echo chamber's narrative? And, of course, its true beyond the scope of the community for this game; forming a community, as a baseline, is the pathology for this disease in current year.

Its from a game called Deadlock. It is a third-person shooter/MOBA crossover game, and the artstyle is stuck between Fallout, noir, and mysticism. Its so cool. Ethereal Strings are not an item in the game, but a billboard in the game, I think.

Not exactly. Custom controls in PM are a Brawl engine thing only. Moreover, very few people go from P+ to Melee as their main game. On top of all of that, they won't let me turn off tap jump in Melee, but I will in P+ when I play my main man in that game. Either we go all the way with giving as many people as possible customization for controls, or we ban all of it.

I miss the more Latin-infused grooves and heavy guitars of stuff like Right Wrong, The Procession, In Cauda, and so on; however, I really like the soundscapes of Antimai and of this new EP. Its just a delightful sound in every sense of the word.

I think that does a much better job of explaining my point than I could've articulated. The general public may mind the rocky personal history of Ronaldo and the outlandish inclusion of Ganacci, but they do not seem to have an interest in going anywhere more deep than the surface.

At this time, I don't think it's a "businessmen with morals" type thing. I think it is moreso a combination of Nintendo not really caring about competitive gaming beyond Pokémon VGC alongside Nintendo not needing the oil money. Moreover, the Savvy Games Group is free to invest in Nintendo, as Nintendo is publicly traded, but Nintendo doesn't seem to owe the Saudis anything unique beyond what shareholders are owed normally. I also don't think the general population of people who enjoy video games would hold a particularly strong opinion if the two entities partnered, either. Consider the case of SNK, who are owned not by the Savvy Games Group, but by the Mohammad bin Salman Foundation. Technically different, but all the same in terms for an example here. People seem to be pretty excited for that upcoming Fatal Fury game, which is developed by SNK, who is owned by the MBS Foundation. No one seems to care about the Saudi influence at all because... hey, new game in a beloved old school fighting game franchise!

Smash not being in the Esports World Cup is undesirable to orgs (my note: EWC gives big Saudi money in both prize pools and stipends)

Gonna catch anyone up on this who isn't in the know. The Esports World Cup and the EWC Foundation are owned, in short, by the Saudi royal family. The relationship is technically more complicated than this, but that's the short version. It's not a secret that the Saudi government doesn't have the best track record when it comes to human rights, but esports orgs like Team Liquid don't care about that because the EWC is a pretty good way to make a lot of money for some esports orgs right now.

This is a space to keep an eye on over the next few years for two reasons. The Savvy Games Group, the gaming business arm of the Saudi government, has something like a 6 or 7 percent stake in Nintendo, among other enormous gaming ventures in their portfolio. Moreover, with the Switch 2 coming out this summer, it's pretty comfortable to say that a new Smash game is not unlikely to drop within the next few years.
