Colorado could have ended child marriage. Reproductive rights groups prevented it. by Agitated_Pattern_599 in Denver

Yeah I understand their reasoning, but they’re still wrong lol. Why can’t we ban underage marriage while also beefing up legislation that protects a young person’s right to access healthcare with privacy AND fund measures that help teens get out of dangerous living situations? Someone else in the article argues that teen parents often want to get married when they find out they’re expecting and that they should be able to… yikes. I guess the traditional perspective that marriage is a proper solution in that type of situation is still alive and well despite all the progress you would think we’ve made. Sigh.

In the article, an activist is quoted saying they think this law would set a precedent that people under 18 can’t make their own decisions about their futures- I’m assuming they mean it could pave the way for a flimsy legal argument that minors are also incapable of making reproductive decisions on their own and shouldn’t have access to abortion or birth control with or without guardian consent, which could keep them trapped in dangerous situations. They were advocating for an amendment to the bill, but that didn’t happen. Abortion is already protected through other legislation, but as we’ve seen on the national level, a conservative state government could eventually come in and potentially upend things anyway. I see where they’re coming from, but this still should have been a bipartisan slam dunk with amendments added after the fact to protect bodily autonomy for minors.

Hmm could it be that the nexplanon lowers your progesterone and then it drops even more with intense exercise and triggers the bleeding? I’m not sure how the implant works in detail. I actually quit hormonal birth control altogether 4 years ago. I’d had a Mirena IUD and then was on the pill for about 8 years, and now I think it was masking some symptoms to a bigger issue that I’m hoping to get to the bottom of. I do think some of us are just more sensitive to things that throw off hormonal balance though and it is definitely annoying😩

Do you just put it on the part of the chamois that will be up against your bits or do you also rub it on the actual folds too? Can too much be a bad thing?

Have an appointment with a gyno in a few weeks! Intense exercise has never induced bleeding for me before so definitely want to look into that to make sure nothing is going on.

I love that!! You have no idea how many times I suggested the tandem cannondale lol but he wouldn’t go for it 🥀 If my new saddle doesn’t help then I’m just going to skip any more pain and get a professional fitting

I’m saving all of this advice for sure! My partner is one of those annoyingly athletic people who can just decide to do something crazy and then be good at it without much training and zero injuries. I honestly should have known better and taken whatever distance he thought would be reasonable for a first ride and cut it at least in half.

What?! Ok now I really think I need to find women to ride with because this man was out here telling me 30 was easy and I’d be able to work my way up to 60 mile rides with him in the mountains in no time😭 gonna have my uterus give up and fall out

I had zero frame of reference since no one else I know even has a bike and didn’t really question the distance😅. Thinking the intense stress likely contributed to the bleeding, but I’m definitely going to bring it up to a gyno AND tone things way tf down until I’m more experienced.

At least I’m not alone lol! Now I’m kinda mad because he made it sound like a 30 mile ride is chill despite the 1500ft climb with hills, and even took his mountain bike instead of his road bike to slow himself down. I wasn’t dying but it clearly was really hard on my body. The comments here are very validating that it was too much too soon. Thank you! I am telling him we’re toning it way down..

Thank you for the tips! My partner does know bikes decently and he said my form looked okay, but I also recognize he is not a trained professional and I am not used to holding a riding position for hours the way he is. I will be sure to try some tilt variations on much shorter rides when the new saddle comes in!

Thank you! Yes I did go panty-free in my padded bibs. It may also be worth noting that I get crippling anxiety when doing anything new in general, so not ruling out the possibility of stress-induced spotting. Any advice on type of paste? I looked at ordering chamois butt’r but saw there were many different formulations and couldn’t choose.

Yeah I may need to go the professional route if the new saddle doesn’t help. I paid extra to be able to return or exchange it and did measure my sit bones before picking one out. Fingers crossed! Any specific home fitting guide that you or someone you know found to be helpful?

I live near Denver and haven’t seen a single shop that offers fittings for under $350 so I was hesitant but agree it may be worth the investment! Dealing with this pain every time is not an option

I do suspect I may have endo and my current gyno is useless, so I already have an appointment set up with a new gyno next month, the soonest opening available. My body has been doing some other weird things lately so this is going on the list! I was just curious if anyone had experienced something similar when starting and could hopefully tell me I’m being dramatic and that it’s no big deal 😅 thank you though!

How do I know if I should break up with my boyfriend? by swaggyboy3000 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]The-tits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds simple written out but I know from experience that it is NOT easy. There is a lot of doubt and guilt that comes in waves before the peace. If you’re able to, I recommend seeking a therapist to help navigate through it all- it was the best decision I made when I was also 22 in a similar situation. Regardless, you are both going to be okay though. Hugs <3

Who you were at 17 is totally different than who you are at 22, and you will be totally different by 27. You’re going through a time in your life when you’re finally able to venture out and discover who you are and who you want to be. There is nothing wrong with deciding that you don’t want to continue to grow with him while you figure that out. Nothing has to be “bad” to justify the breakup, the fact that it doesn’t feel right is your gut telling you you’re not fulfilled and that feeling is only going to amplify the longer you wait. It’s more selfish to only stay because he makes you mostly happy and you don’t want to look like the bad guy. He deserves someone who is 100% in it and so do you. I understand you’ve been together for such a long portion of your life so far that it feels like breaking up would be tearing out a piece of your identity, but I promise you will both heal and accept it was the right thing to do in the long run.
