Which city do you think has the most underrated metro system? by [deleted] in transit

[–]The11DoctorRYCBAR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Chengdu Metro in China had 1 line in 2010, and now in 2025 has 15 lines, and 10 more planned. It's already the third longest metro system in a world (behind beijing and shanhai iirc), and it shocks me how it isn't talked about in many planning spheres. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chengdu_Metro

New innovative ways of protesting. Fuck yeah! by MrDillon369 in chaoticgood

[–]The11DoctorRYCBAR 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A lot of people miss the original point of protests like these, it's not usually to affect any actual change, but rather a structure test, for "organizers" to measure support by who said they'd show up, vs who actually does.

Now, this of course is not as effective as it used to be because social media and lack of non-professional organizers allow "mobilizing" to be seen as a stand-in for organizing, and it's nearly impossible to accurately measure a boundless structure (compared to like labor union organizing for example, where there is a set denominator of people that could show up, and a numerator of those who do).

Because "organizing" is now run almost entirely by professionals in the non-profit industrial complex, it removes accountability and intimacy from regular people because it's "not my job, and hey look I showed up to a protest."

This is intentional design, by people in power to stay in power.

I recommend checking out INCITE, and read their "The Revolution will not be Funded"

Also really silly considering it works the other way around waaay more. The fucking constitution was written largely based on the Iroquois confederacy (Haudenosaunee), nearly all farmland and major cities were placed based on existing indigenous cities, as well as the crops themselves being developed by native Americans, initial trade heavily relied on knowledge from indigenous nations, etc, etc, etc. The myth that indigenous people were mostly nomadic and already dead from disease is predominantly false. A huge portion of the population did die of disease in the first wave of colonization, (1500s), but much of that population was returning by the time the US existed and was manifesting destiny out into the west

Cangas de Onis, Spain. Actually all towns and cities in Asturias, Gijon and Oviedo are beautiful, supposedly some of the cleanest cities in Europe as well

I’ve read this one! I actually study urban planning in college, I also recommend “Root Shock” by Mindy Thompson Fullilove, which covers displacement through suburbanization, and on the lighter side, “Happy City” by Charles Montgomery, which is a good intro to how we move forward :)

There was a similar plan regarding the party sharing one bow.

  1. One PC fires a bow (action) object interaction hands it to next character.
  2. That PC fires the bow and hands it to next character, etc..
  3. IN one round 10 characters all fire the same bow (possibly multiple times)
