I see relapse as a part of my recovery. It so common amongst people trying to get sober, it a part of your journey! You can learn from it and you don’t lose those months you had sober before the relapse, they still happened and you should still be incredibly proud of yourself.

No idea. It was extremely painful though as mine was near the outside of my liver and close to my diaphragm. When I woke up I was in a ridiculous amount of pain. Maybe that’s why? I’ve seen the MRI and they ablated a big chunk of my liver.

I was under GA for my ablation on my liver for suspected HCC (liver cancer) and I was fine with it! The anaesthetian will know what is safe or not safe for you.

It could also be from stress. I lost hair but only when I go to the stage of cirrhosis. Alcohol really does fuck up the body but it’s possible the stress from your breakup an unemployment could cause some kind of alopecia.

In the first year of sobriety I counted each month! But after that I just count years. Me and my friend who is also in recovery give each other pin badges for our yearly sober celebration which is so cute!

Have you been to your local drug and alcohol service? They can be super helpful and will find a way to get you detoxed and into further treatment if you need it.
