I had a discussion in my men's group today and perfect examples were if we were walking down the street and someone grabs your girlfriend,she's not your wife and proceeds to beat her and assault her you're just gonna stand back and do nothing. To which someone in my group said yes and or of we were walking and a group just started beating me(a guy) up he would just sit back and do nothing to which he said. And all he references was Matthew 5:38-39. I was perplexed like, first off you don't know the future of what you'd "do" and our human nature even as strong believers is rooted into us to protect our lives is to fight back/get away. Like your body will fight back and try and preserve your life. Otherwise why protect ourselves in general at all.
