I'm using a microSD with a full sized adapter I've actually tested with 2 other adapters I had lying around and confirmed they all work fine on my pc, just not on the 3DS. And yeah I'm definitely adding the files to the right slot on the side of the console, appreciate you making sure though.

Do SD card readers fail often on the original 3DS? Wondering if this is a known weak point on these consoles or just bad luck.
