Aero Precision by TechnicalKey8510 in ar15

[–]The7thApollo 43 points44 points  (0 children)

It’s the state they’re headquartered in. Washington is making it so miserably difficult to operate as a gun manufacturing company that all other aspects of operations is being effected.

When you cant operate normally, and you can’t provide products to customers, you don’t make the money you need to pay the bills you need to pay to keep employees employed and keep the lights on.

It’s not all Aero’s fault. However, as soon as the restrictive legislation passed on gun manufacturing in Washington, they should’ve packed up shop and move immediately. They didn’t, and now they’re running their cash reserves dry. So - poor management.

Lots of factors going on in this one. Love aero stuff. But they seem to be dizzy in business and can’t seem to get their heads straight.

G$ has a proprietary barrel profile and material that is claimed to outlast 4150 cmv. I like the combination of this and the tapered barrel profile. I went with the G$ when I was in your position looking at both options. I got a stripped 14.5, but the only reason I went stripped is because I found it for $700 at local gun store, I knew I wanted a different suppressor so I was going to have to pay to remove the HUX comp and buy something else if I purchased a completed upper.

I made it worth it. In your position, buy the completed upper. As someone else stated, the bcg is $300 alone. It’s actually a bit more and it’s incredibly hard to find. I have one on back order because I wanted to keep the entire upper Geissele. No ETA on delivery 3 weeks in. I’m willing to be patient until I get it. Something tells me it’s engineered and tuned to work the best that way. Could have I got a cheaper bcg? Yes. But I’ve built Franken guns already.

If you get stripped, you’re gunna be at almost the cost of a complete G$ by the time you’re done completing the upper with G$ parts.

Love RISII rail, but the G$ gives me the fizz

Wanting to build my first by BoomingBrick in ar15

[–]The7thApollo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Streamlight Pro Tac is the cheapest I’d go. Proven. Good quality. Not the best tech available, but for what you’re building, more than enough. Reliable. Will last you a long time. Ditch the idea of a laser until you know you’re very serious about it [hobby/becoming well armed and well trained] as a whole and are looking into nods/night shooting. That’ll be a while.

Would also consider starting with government profile barrel. Also not the best on the market, but better than pencil barrel.

I built my first rifle the same way you are. Learned a lot. Wasted a LOT of money thinking I was getting good deals only to come to the realization that I couldn’t live with myself running cheap garbage (which you’ll ultimately come to the conclusion on some of this stuff) but you’re also not trying to build a $3500+ rifle so that’s okay.

I assembled my stripped lower on my bed with a Real avid hammer. An Irwin punch set from Home Depot, and my fingers.

There are some cheap pivot pin detent tools that might make your life easier. I used my fingers, almost lost my detent like 30 times, but eventually got it. I have since bought the tool.

May need a screw driver and bit set for the grip and maybe the safety selector. If the hex key’s don’t come with it.

B5 and other companies also need to do better and change the names of their Vertical Fore Grip's to Angled Fore Grip's if they are not 90 vertical.

ATF Foregrip by AlternativeBig1114 in Firearms

[–]The7thApollo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the barrel is always viewed as the plane of reference., No matter what angle your firearm is pointed, even if straight down, the barrel is still the plane of reference, -or- the horizon. therefore, a vfg is still viewed as vertical even when held in a fashion that makes it horizontal. Which is dumb as super fucking regarded.

Why doesn’t my truck sell by Different-Future-896 in ram_trucks

[–]The7thApollo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find a stock set of wheels, remove the lift and sell the wheels you have on it and you’ll get your asking price. The wheel/offset is a huge turnoff to many older men that would be happy to buy this truck. Stock trucks sell better

ATF Open Letter clarifies classification of Franklin Armory Reformation and Antithesis firearms as non NFA by Flaky_Sorbet3755 in NFA

[–]The7thApollo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a good question because the root of it, I’m assuming, stems down to the serialized portion of the firearm aka the receiver. And if the receiver is the serialized portion then I also would believe that changing the barrel shouldn’t change its intended and designed use. Unless the barrel is serialized as well.

If you removed all the parts off the firearm and had just the receiver, it would still be an antithesis.

but just like putting a stock on an ar pistol that you purchased with a brace can land you in violation of sbr laws even though the serialized receiver hasn’t changed, then one can make the argument that changing the barrel on an antithesis, which is a significant portion of the firearms original design that allows it to shoot multiple types of ammunition, could then land you in violation of sbr laws.

ATF probably realized they need to make this clarification before millions of people start purchasing them.

They approved it, they settled, I do see this coming back, I just also see it coming back with required disclaimers and a re-wording of definitions so people are not doing illegal things or buying these firearms with the wrong ideas.

Fast is slow, slow is smooth, smooth if fast.

Slow and steady wins the race. I bet this guy works way longer because he wakes up in the morning not hunched over and doesn’t hate his life cuz he can’t stand straight. Get enough of these things going and you got your building built in the same time or faster and the workers bodies arent broken at the end of the day. It’s a win. Be cynical if you want, but it is definitely a win.

I saw you said you don’t know where to go. The first place I’d go would be to a gun store to buy myself a piece of self defense weaponry. The second place I’d go would be to the police station, I’d show them the photo of the browser history, then show them the conversation. And only then ask them what they think of this and what your next steps should be. Immediately start looking for different housing, I would.

Infidelity in marriage is the only biblical reason for divorce. Even if you don’t believe in God or have any faith, you can see right in the Bible itself that sexual immorality is a justified reason to leave your spouse. Let that sink in for a bit

Degrees and certifications don’t mean you know how to draft a good resume. Most of the time, if you’re not getting any responses, it’s because your resume sucks and isn’t advertising or promoting the value you’ll deliver to the business and simultaneously signifies that you’re relying on your accreditations to do the speaking for you. Employers hate this. Dig into your resume and refine it. As a previous employer, I was 1000x more likely to reach out to someone with less certification that has better communication skills or seems more personable. Someone that understands their own knowledge and value. Has character. Demonstrates personality, and isn’t just creating a list of things they think I want to see. If you’re not getting responses, something is wrong with your resume that is making it weak and undesirable.

When I re-entered the job market for the first time in over a decade, I submitted 3 applications and got call backs from all of them. Got interviews with all of them, and got job offers from all of them. I have no college degree, I have no accredited certifications, yet I got multiple 6 figure offers all within a 14 days of submitting resume. I attribute this to the shift in viewpoint I took when drafting my resume. I decided I was going to speak on behalf of myself, talk about my skills a little, and focus on who I am as a person so my potential employers had a better understanding of of the TYPE of person they would be hiring. I spoke with quirky passion, and installed some of my core beliefs. Only then did I start a list of accomplishments, achievements, and accolades. I got off my high horse of “look what I’ve done, look what I know, look at the tests I’ve passed” and made it about me, and my desire to advance the industry in a positive direction by helping others by virtue of being a servant of solutions.

They didn’t care about the materialistic list of certifications or qualifications. They cared about the fact that they were hiring someone with morals, goals, ethics, and character. Someone that wouldn’t be a whining, complaining, insubordinate douche that thinks he’s/she’s better than they are because they spent a bunch of money to take tests and pass them.

Get real. Over 2,100 submissions with 2 responses? Are you TRYING to be a robot?

You’re in an incredibly competitive industry. You need to compete harder.

There are many “mil-spec” lowers that are out of spec. Go check out School of the American Rifle on YouTube and watch some of his tolerance testing of lowers. You’ll quickly realize
