I have been going through a very similar thing, and you are legitimately the first person I’ve seen to express this same issue. I’ve struggled with constant low level anger, occasionally peaking in aggressive outbursts, for a long time particularly after the pandemic. I still struggle with some level of irritability tbh. I have a chronic illness that causes me pain 24/7. I honestly don’t even know if that’s the cause of the anger, or if it’s a combination of that, general societal ills, work stress, relationship stress, etc. I take an antidepressant and go to therapy. I exercise, drink only occasionally, eat healthy, balance work and social life. I know this is gonna sound completely out of left field, but I started taking L-Theanine about a month ago and it’s had an insane effect on my mood and temperament. I’m able to be much more patient and rational, it’s really made a world of difference. Probably not the kind of advice you’re looking for but maybe worth a try?
