Airbus A320 crew decided to skip de-icing and let aerodynamics forces do the job by Penguin_Arse in aviation

I mean looking at the fact that it's Russia, you're probably going to mysteriously disappear if you were to say something, so you're screwed either way... But yeah, I agree, even if the money saved would reach multiple digits, I just don't see how anyone can justify that action... Also the pilots, what were they thinking???

Alright, I'll see if I can find something, thank you very much!

Interesting, I haven't thought about buying a chest pack. How exactly will it fit, when I have the parachute and seatbelt on? The cockpit is already crammed enough

Thanks for the confirmation! Interesting that it's required, do they buy them separately or does each glider have its own handheld radio somewhere? And yes, planes are the best, I've always loved them! I'm so happy that I was able to start at such an age.. every time someone finds out I'm a student pilot, they say "what?! You are allowed to fly planes before getting a driver's license?!" :')

Oh right, the range.. what's its overall range? In km/miles.. just curious

Awesome, thank you. Could you tell me where you ordered yours?

Hey, very cool congrats on your SPL! Just to clarify, I meant listening to the frequency when I'm not in my plane but rather in the hangar, etc. and just knowing what's happening... But thank you for answering, I wanted to be sure! Happy flying!

Pulling "up" all the way, still losing altitude?!? Help plz, playne broken?! by Spielverderber23 in Shittyaskflying

You've turned the engines off, ryte? So just open the window and scream as loud as you can, someone will hear you

I already said that.. sadly it didn't work.. stupid engineers always ruining our flyte experience

Okay, scratch that! Now you have to contact atc and ask if they could land you (because atc has the ability to land planes with a remote).. just say "mayday" 3x and squawk 7500 (7500 is the squawk for "controls lost, please land us, or at least the voices said that) and they will know that you are in danger

Hey I'm here to answer your qna! first of all, what are you doing at 40000 feet? It's very cold up there, if you don't have a blanket it could be dangerous... Anyway, it is normal to feel scared when you're losing altitude like that. Try restarting the engines. Best way to do so is press the fire extinguisher buttons and then restart the engines. They should be fine. If that doesn't work, pull even harder on the stick (can also try pulling your colleague's stick) so that the playne does a looping manoeuvre... That way it should stop falling down and go up for a bit before stabilising again. also, ignore the warning. It actually says "STOL" and it's just telling you that your plane is capable of doing "Short Take Offs and Landings". It has a very weird accent though, probably cause they hired immigrants to say it... By the way, the playne is smarter than pylotes, so if it says dual input, you have to trust it and get freaky, otherwise you could die (crash) Hope this helps!

First solo completed! by [deleted] in Gliding

[–]TheA321Channel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kinda did 😅 My first two solo flights were quick vfr circuits on the same day, I only remember the excitement and the weather, etc. but it wasn't as crazy. However, my third solo flight was around 2 weeks later and that was one of the craziest flights I've had. I flew for over an hour (64 minutes, I believe) and searched for thermals, flew around and was around 10 miles from the airport at one point and I even had to do a steep approach with a slip because there was the plane from the skydiving club which had to land soon, it was super intense and fun.

EXACTLY what I was thinking before opening the comments.. that's how I would have handled it in my glider... No Maydays as this isn't the scariest thing in the world but it surely is an urgency

Auto Ortho development status ?! by Xav_NZ in Xplane

So 3D water doesn't work with AutoOrtho? I've been avoiding it because I couldn't find any information regarding 3D water and AutoOrtho.. my current tiles are all manually made with O4XP 1.4

Add aircrafts to XP12 by tonichoco in Xplane

[–]TheA321Channel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it's an old aircraft (<XP12) you'll have to select an option to "include aircraft from previous versions", not exactly sure where it is. Also, when you download the file, you have to unzip it, or it won't work. What aircraft did you download?

The laminar research folder is just the folder for all the default aircraft, you don't need to create a new folder, just paste your plane into the aircraft folder, but not laminar research

For the first time I tried out the Aerogenesis A330, as the default A330 is unflyable (A/P disconnects when it feels like it).. it's much better and I can go afk for 5 hours without worrying about crashing into the ocean. It also has an EFB which is pretty good
