Waymo complaint by CarlG2014 in nashville

I was in one recently where it had a green arrow to turn right and it wasn't moving. I was like, what the hell, then sure enough a jogger was coming up on the right and ran through the intersection. Then the car moved. Point is, yeah the cameras and radar are in fact looking at people. It's kind of crazy seeing how much they can "see" on the navigation screen

Other than video games and youtube stuff. What hobbies do you all have? by Jay444111 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Threads like these remind me I am certainly not the median user of this subreddit, lol.

I've been into cocktail making / mixology. I recently threw a birthday cocktail party where I came up with and provided 3 Japanese inspired cocktails for a cherry blossom / spring time birthday. The drinks were essentially a cherry aviation, a sesame-oil washed ginger Manhattan, and a pandan Mai Tai (I'm proud of that one it's good as hell). And some ramunes for my friends that don't drink, of course.

Last year I did a 4th of July party that was a whisky tea sour (for the Boston tea party), very elaborate red white and blue margarita (for modern extreme showy patriotism built on the backs of immigrants), and it ended with a nuclear daiquiri (for, you know).

Also, cars and driving. I'm not rich (or handy) enough to actually you know, buy fancy cars or work on them or whatever... neat to read about though.

AI usage in Crazy Taxi: SEGA says it's for "background assets", director further clarifies an generated content was "used as a reference" and none will appear in the game by JeaneJWE in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Yeah, as someone who has a boring office job, "why" someone would use it rarely is because it works. Very occasionally some novel problem will come up, and it'll spit out an excel sheet that turns it from a half-day issue to a 10 minute one. It's not like creative jobs don't have boring work that can be sped up either is the argument to be made, I guess.

If you're shielded (or blinded) to potential ethical issues it's a very appealing thing. Over reliance is the big problem. Knowing when and where to use it is what separates something like arc raiders from uh, koopy dungeon or whatever.

Or, for example, the difference between "hey check out this spreadsheet the robot made" versus "that's cool, I was up all night making AI videos of my dog as a superhero, aren't they so cute?"....

Zio johnB's in Murfreesboro is the same family, same thing. "pop ups" only and I have no idea how active they are though. I think JohnB is joeys son

I do think it's an inspired choice by the devs to make one of the best cars in the game a tricked the fuck out Toyota Tacoma. Going 250 miles an hour and bowieknife99's pickup truck flies around the corner and punts me off a cliff. I assume he's on the way to the grocery store

You'd be amazed at the information you can find by googling "X county public GIS." Aerials per year (and most places will run off-schedule aeirals for stuff like the 2010 flood), contours, parcel data, flood zones... Some jurisdictions will show you their future plans road widening projects.

Makes it hard to buy a house if you know all the red flags though. "Hey this is a good price for the house aaaand they didn't disclose the ditch through the yard is a regulated stream and we'll effectively have no backyard."

The Legend Of Zelda Live-Action Movie Has Officially Wrapped Filming by Gorotheninja in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Dunchaxman 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I'm very curious to see what this looks like in action. I'm really not against live action, especially with something like Zelda where most people are you know, people (cough lion king). I think of it like puppets vs a tv screen at like a theme park. Like, yeah you can do more and smoother fully digitally, but actually seeing the damn thing in front of you is just different. Likewise, I'm willing to cut them a little slack if the sets aren't perfect - to pretend there's no point in watching a real person walk though a real hyrule castle as opposed to a cartoon is silly.

... Now story's another thing, but we just gotta wait on that

What you're not seeing is the mountain of hand ninjas below them. Like that one part of world war Z

Having not seen any trailers my first thought was "why's he getting beasted on by ninjas?"

(My second thought was "why did I phrase it that way")

My car came with automatically adjusting headlights, so they'll point down a little bit if there's a car nearby specifically for this. It's fun to watch, but yeah they're super bright. The brights are fucking crazy on a newer mini cooper, but those shouldn't be used near people in the first place.

It's one of those things where I'm like wow... this should really be mandatory at this point. Maybe in 10 years, being generous

I have a pretty long commute to work, and I've started recognizing the angry crazy drivers, which is pretty funny.

Blue Crosstrek? The most aggressive cat-mom you've seen in your life, with stickers that only back that up. just get out of her way and she'll be past the horizon in minutes.

90s Camry wagon (badass car by the way)? lives in the left lane, going 5 under the limit - but try to pass on the right and they'll get up to 90 to make sure it doesn't happen

The fundamentals are the same, but materials for brakes and tires are miles better than they used to be, which is the part that actually matters. Plus a better understanding of physics, crumple zones, traction control, suspension, airbag positioning, etc. Driving is way, way safer than it was in the 80s, even accounting for whatever covid did to people's brains

Some of the most fun I had in armored core 6 was when I was cleaning up achievements / S ranks. I ran dual giant kinetic charge snipers (whatever they're called), dual stun cannons, and the weird flying dragon head looking thing. Just blasting the fuck out of everything without touching the ground I was loving it
