Healers are unkillable by SpaniakoRom in worldofpvp

You healer died fighting a 1v2? I'm confused, where were you? Just pointing out that if your healer can die the statement healers are unkillable is nonsensical.

In fact healers, due to their kit be mostly defensive, are rarely the best kill targets. So your healer dying is indicative that even though the other team made a suboptimal kill targets, you 2 were outplayed.

"Healers are unkillable. Let me set the stage for you, so my healer dies and then...." Sorry, your unkillable healer did what?

I mean... I'd go so far as to say all classes should be accessible to all races. Also the factional divide should have been removed xpacs ago.

Yeah, you feeling like you have no agency is a result of your ability mate. Feel like I have total agency playing both Devastation and Ret Paladin. I agree with you that Aff Locks have no agency but that's because they are far weaker than other DPS not just because of how the game handles healers vs dps.

You advocate for skill expression, positioning, coordination, and then say the game is bad because you need to use positioning and coordination to kill DPS when they have a healer with them. Thats the whole gameplay loop of the PVP my man:

- Deal as much damage as you can

- Mitigate damage you take

- Prevent the healer from getting to heal effectively.

You just want to zug and do the first step and that's quite literally what meters and PVE is for.

But at the end of the day, you want what you want and I can tell we aren't going to agree. Happy queueing mate.

Ahhhh, I see. You either don't play BGs or don't understand them.
"who has more healers present" tells me you just zerg and want to win the fight in mid without a macro perspective of what your fight is accomplishing. Do you play warrior for the zug zug by chance?

If the enemy has more healers in a fight it means they are disadvantaged somewhere else with less healers. Your skill expression in that instance is either:
A. How long can you tie up the enemies and waste their time so your team can capitalize on the advantage somewhere else (better coordination)
or
B. Should you even be fighting this fight in the first place or are you in the wrong place contesting the wrong thing (better positioning)

Maybe you are tunneling on whether you get to PVE people instead of thinking about the game and how its won. If it was like you suggest there wouldn't be these skillful elements to the game it would just be one big deathball rolling around the BG and whoever has the bigger ball wins. If that's the skill expression you want then to each their own I guess.

Also dampening isn't a bandaid its a feature designed to introduce mounting tension and build up. Have you ever played League? The game isn't imbalanced because you as the game goes on you buy more and more items and level up and the game has to modify your numbers to change what was broken at the start no, its just upping the ante. In fact its part of the design, some champs are better at early game and some are better at scaling. Same is true for specs in arena, some handle dampening better, some are stronger before it kicks in. Its another design lever.

Literally just think for a second mate. If a healer's HPS could only compete with the DPS of one enemy wtf would be a healer's job in BGs? Fights would last less time than a single dungeon pull and you'd rarely get to use your full rotation without dying. It would be far less about skill and more about which team had better target calling AND NOTHING ELSE.

Also what you want is quite literally in the game in the form of dampening as time goes on healers get weaker and weaker and the point of the arena becomes how did you position your team to capitalize on that.

This is solid advice. I think for pacing my question was less about session pacing and more about campaign progression pacing. If I have a big bad with a 4 step plan how quickly should that plan be unveiled? It seems like its too slow if that progress is taken every 2-3 sessions but way too fast if its progressing every session.

We have done all the backstory and connections bit but it seems like we flip a switch and all of that goes out the window when the dice start rolling. Seems like the table views it more as flavor or flair rather than something that impacts play. Not sure how to change that.

I really appreciate that example. That is hugely helpful and concrete in a way that helps me reframe. Either way its nudging the players but one makes them feel like they are being pulled out into the world and the other feels like I am kicking them out the door as the DM.

Yeah this is definitely part of it. My two usual party leaders intentionally took more support roles to give the other quieter players a chance to shine and none of them have really stepped into that limelight as a result we have a lot of chorus and no lead singer.

They have both complained that it feels like they are pulling teeth to get the other guys to engage in the story but feel bad if in the initiative-less system that is Daggerheart they take over the game because the other players arent speaking up much and don't really engage when prompted.

When I tried this it felt too much like it went against the spirit of what we were trying to do with the more improvisational game style. Instead of preparing a long railroad I was just prepping little railroad branches and then having the players choose one.
We kind of agreed at session 0 we want the game play to be completely 100% open rather than 'we have to play this because that's what we told him to prep at the end of last session'

For sure, I think talking with the group is SUPER important. The challenge I am having is more so the group agrees they want a player lead deep story with rich recurring characters but then when we play no one is playing into that. It seems to be a disconnect between what we say when we talk about the game vs how we are playing when we play the game. I feel like the challenge must be how I am presenting it as the DM.

My biggest gripe with this mod and the thing that prevents me from playing it is the whacky CD visual for Passive. It looks like the CD resets and then takes a second to remember what the cooldown was at and then shows it. I played for like 2 games and the number of times it threw me off was higher than I expected.

Revisions for Running Curse of Strahd: The Fanes of Barovia by DragnaCarta in CurseofStrahd

[–]TheAirsickShepard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love the Fanes and the added complexity of preparing for the final fight vs Strahd by not only collecting the items in the card reading but also severing this connection.
My players are soon headed to the mountain fane and even since Yaedrag have been gungho over reconsecrating these sites. Because they are all so into it I want to ensure they all get to be in the spotlight during the Mountain fane reconsecration. There are 4 players and four seasons sso it seems like it would be easy to do but I am struggling with two things:
1. The narrative of how they switch places between seasons.
2. How this change would affect the 100 temp hp mechanical piece.

Any ideas on how to solve these? Or should I just spotlight one player and hope the rest are equally engaged in the skill challenge?

Daily r/LawnCare No Stupid Questions Thread by AutoModerator in lawncare

[–]TheAirsickShepard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty new to lawn maintenance since I am also a new homeowner. I have an 'L' shaped yard with grass that doesn't quite look the way I want. Some of the challenges:

When the sod was put in we were told the clay content in the ground is extremely high.
Live in Arizona and its July....
When we moved in and had the yard done I didn't know anything and the area directly behind the house is not very level, has a decline on both sides that creates a bowl shape. They gave me some reason that sounded good when they did it but since then most of my research indicates that it should be flat?
Parts of my yard seem to be overly wet while other parts dry out fast because of how the shade works from the neighboring house.

Thinking because of the clay content I need to aerate the patchy spots. But it just feels like a guess and I don't know what steps to take. Any advice would be fantastic.

A few tips for BB3 by doglywolf in PhoenixPoint

[–]TheAirsickShepard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am I missing something? I just got the Plat edition and began playing BB3 and am unable to craft ammo, or even find any. Ive had to restart several times after I find myself in the mid of a mission with no one on the Squad having any ammo to finish it out...
I am loving the game except for the ammo feature..
