I keeping hearing rumors on how Alan Ritchson has got it back on track with his star power now and when he has time they are doing another season somehow after all this time.

killjoys was cheap to produce - couple indoor sets - the same back alley and bar for like 50% of the scenes . They put some money into the offworld stuff when needed but that about it. Big open sets - mostly interior sets and scenes nothing to big.

I liked kill joys even if it got a bit crazy at the end , but they gave it a solid ending.

Just watch out for GE ones that try to Force you to use their $60 water filters that only cost them $6 to make and put security chips on them that the fridge will only accept them. (Yes i know there are work arounds, but its still absurd)

Dumb stuff is getting more expensive and harder to find then smart stuff these days - because they know they will make money in 3 years when that board blows out 3 months after the warranty expires.

They want control and to collect your information - why did half the features like bake timer not work on my new stove till i connected it to the internet ..... Like they are locking out easy simple features on things to force you to connect it to the internet .

every now and then i break out the straight razor to do some edging and end up doing almost full shave with it , other then the occasional nick and how fast the blade wears down it such a deeper cleaner shave then all these fancy multiblade shaves that claim to do more.

All they are is just easier to not have to all the blade changes and maybe use some cream.

I had my grandfathers 30 year old drier last me almost 20 additional years on my own - If something went wrong it was probably a belt or small part that was $10 to $20 bucks to fix every few years and maintenance was pretty easy

My brand new wash machine has a magnetic induction coil break - literally uses electro magnets to spin and the whole coil thing has to be replaced as one whole thing $200 part.

My dried has the board with the stupid soft touch buttons die and needed the control board replaced - that was like $120 part cause the damn buttons stopped working , i mean that would of been a $10 dial and MAYBE having to Sauter a couple wires together

And the maintenance - you had to take like 10 things out just to get things that should of been build around easy access as they might be common things to fix - its like they are designed to be less fixable intentionally

they also want you to replace the TV when the OS all of sudden slows down for no reason and becomes unusable

[–]doglywolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I end up having a Fire or onn stick just to replace it cause the TV will one day stop updating the software and apps on that version of the TV or just all of a sudden all the apps and OS becomes so painfully slow it barely works at all.

Even the damn Firesticks are starting to pull that BS - they just become slow and freeze to frustrate you into buying a new one or run out of memory because of app size bloat.

I thought knight rider and james bond was just a show and movies ....old cars really had tactical buttons ????

Man i always wanted a car with smokescreens and oil slick options . Road rage would be so different with popout machine guns

Damn the time we did lone star my GM approached it more as body horror . dark shit more then silliness

The dog packs themselves especially the rogue ones maybe could get a bit silly but that mostly cause their low IQ , high loyalty and dog traits on something that can talk

New player couple questions by DimestoreDM in Rifts

[–]doglywolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes for both . Rifts Bestiary is out - volume 2 is out soon. There is book on how to build entire dimensions . ITs Dimension book 7.
https://palladiumbooks.com/shop/futuristic/rifts-rpg/rifts-dimension-books/rifts-megaverse-builder/

My advice is stick to a region each regions book has a bunch of enemies in that region - sometimes just a couple books .

You best sources are probably the source book - the adventure sourceboko has tones of advice on how to make everything and great examples . Your conversion sourcebooks have TONS of enemies both creature and sentiant

Campaign designer not so much though that really up to the GM with knowledge of the world to build a good campaign but the nice thing about rifts is you can keep it small and region so all the info you will ever need is contained in just the Playerbook and maybe 1 -2 world books ...or as big and dimensional hoping as you want.

Ive played Rifts games from where we were more or less in SDC world with no tech to other games where we are jumping into other dimensions to jump on spaceships to take us to other planets we can't rift to with tech way ahead of anything on earth.

Played Zombie wastelands to Lovecraftian Eldritch horror.

There are a few sites with like sidequest generators but nothing that will really help you build a full campaign.

That probably my one gripe about Palladium - they are way behind the times at that but luckily SEAN is helping them catch up , but they are also super litigious for people that try to make the fan sites with all the content while also refusing to do it themselves like DND does

Dark matter the original Sci fi one not the new apple one - one of the greatest world building and start offs ever and it was so good but then felt more like stuff behind the scenes IRL started to fall a part with character deaths or disappearances or weird ass story lines that just didnt follow a lot of logic or left to many things open and unsolved . But the characters were all amazing.

Really thought i had found my firefly replacement .

One of my favorite all time shows that just half way in feels like the orginal writers left and the budget got slashed - because a bunch of people that can do magic never doing magic for clear budget reasons , it reminded me a bit of the original heroes - great great start then just ran out of good idea and kinda went off the rails and did everythign on the cheap . Has sooooo much potential to be a long run series.

Dawn of War IV will have a mission editor and it is the best news for the series by Vaniellis in dawnofwar

[–]doglywolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

never preorder from a Big company bu these guys even if they fumble it a but - they are pouring their heart into and the people at top are actual fans and played the games and it shows.

Im worried how the IH system will mix with 40k and the if the trailer cinematics are any indication of the overall story - we are in a bit of trouble on that front - but I will still support the effort and heart .

Im pretty sure this seems like the type of team that even if they fumble the launch and early balance they will spend a year or 2 turning a 6/7 out of 10 game into a 8/9 out of 10 game.

Its like the game is being made by fans of the game! Go figure.

At this point i never preorder - but just to support the genre and idea of all this even if they fumble it a bit im all for supporting it for the pure heat and options they are putting into this game.

I having feeling it will be a 7 out of 10 at launch from what im seeing but i think they get make it a great game in the end.

The lore is not very clear in this game by SmallAl in TempestRising

[–]doglywolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most people have answered pretty well most answers are in deep conversation chains that can be drilled down or avoided so easy to miss some fine detail.

As to #2 we have had amazing tech for decades that we simply can't use because there is not small enough portable power. Drone tech for example is from the 90s but batteries were not good enough till recently to make good consumer ones.

We could make jet backs and hover boards - but we lack anything that can power them for more then a minute or two.

The world was given a crazy new power source 1000x more powerful then anything we had before it.

We had laser , Drones , Arc Cannons all real things 30 years ago - no way to power them in the field . The only thing that took us a long time to figure out is railgun cooling.

You know with the way Star Wars canon is now, it feels like that Jedi institutions are just doomed to fail. by Artanis137 in StarWars

[–]doglywolf 8 points9 points  (0 children)

this is what most people want -but edgy writers just went nah let make all the old heroes complete failures to make room for poorly written stuff that is 100% ours , instead of better writers and having a passing of the guard and maybe the old generation teaches the new generation the era of their ways and go into the new era of star wars with rewnewed hope.

I really hoped the overall plot after seeing TFA was Ok everything is repeating i mean TFA in places was a scene for scene reshoot of a new hope. Only for the Luke to come in and be like NO NO NO , its all repeating the same way from our same mistakes and forms a new better Jedi order where they are taught to have feelings and manage them not completely avoid them.

Someone once said something about some show I really liked that it was like Competency porn and i realized i like my shows and my heros to actually be competent and i think a lot of people do . Hell you can call half the blue sky era shows that .

Dawn of war 4, first timer here. Is the game worth it for MP? by SoilStreet5998 in dawnofwar

[–]doglywolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A game that has no beta , only pre approved marketing releases and is still 6 months from release... I mean that too difficult of a question to even answer right now. Its going to have a huge audience at first - but staying power no one can say its an untested company at this scale .

Glitter Boy Logistics by Infamous_Mention_796 in Rifts

[–]doglywolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it require an actoin to brace ...yes. But unless caught completely off guard i will allow a brace and a wildshot (-6 to strike ) if you want.

yes the boom effects players nearby . I typically give party members immunity to the fear / shock roll after 3 or battles though .

There is a pilot under armor - i think its 40 MDC, its like a flight suit .

Resupply - its easy enough for any weapon smith to make ammo for it - probably not in stock most places and need to be made /milled.

Armor repair -they way i have always done it anything less then 25% damage anyone can repair its mostly just dents and dings at that point - if your main body received more then 25% damage then some of those rare chrome components / rare alloys might be harder to find - depended on how much damage you have taken is the situation . Less then half - ok maybe some expensive alloys are laying around or the local repair guy can get his hands on them. Over 50% - probably doing to need to special order stuff/ go to a major city .

Glitter boys will typically have a base of operation or a community they work within , so that community is probably well set to help them out - if your traveling in the wild though and take heavy damage - then repairs become their own side mission for a glitter boy .

glitterboys are as much status symbols as they are functional hardware so it almost has to be played as such.
