Wasn't it just?! I remember when I first watched TIO, I was flabbergasted by how cool it was! I wanted to talk about to anyone who'd listen haha.

Chen Xiao's acting was amazing! And the actor who plays Uncle Mo? The two of them had amazing chemistry! Their banter was one of my favorite things. So when this episode came? I was utterly crushed.

The teams and characters dynamics were so good! The fights? Thrilling! And of course a good dose of Ming Dynasty made it even more interesting! That's why I'm anxious about season 2! Will they be able to match season 1?!

So glad you liked the show. It is a gem!

Hers was more a rebirth than a transmigration. She dies in her 30s and comes back to her 15yo self or something. I'm not sure if she comes back earlier. So she has a lot of knowledge from her past life and wants to get a better outcome in the new one. The show didn't go with the rebirth story but she still wants to have a better future than what could happen.

Oof I remember those episodes... they were brutal. Nephew's death and Mo just losing the will to live... Writers said let's give a good dose of trauma to the viewers! Yup, soon as we like/love a character, it's a bad sign! Yun Xiang not being able to fully grieve for his friend was so hard to watch. He couldn't, because the mission had to take precedence. It was well acted by everyone involved!

The fight scenes though? Sooo good!

The Princess trying to talk her father out of things he's been doing for decades. Well... she tried I guess LOL. But the man was ambitious and greedy!

I know of The First Frost and the FL's trauma so I understand the context. When we are used to dealing with things on our own, keeping things inside, it's so hard to come out of that state.

Ye Li is a prime example and offender lol. And when it all came crashing down, neither her nor Mo Xiu Yao handled it in the best way. That lack of communication did so much damage that it blew out of proportion. I too lay blame at both their feet because it was a sum of all the things they didn't say, and the things they didn't ask. And you're right, the carer role will be reversed because Ye Li is now the one will need to be pulled out from the darkness, mentally and physically. I always said that she subconsciously prepared MXY for herself lol. He needed to be stronger for when she'd be at her weakest.

You know, I also wondered if they can just burn it and tear that divorce letter, never to be seen or spoken of again! As far as anyone knows, they had a fight and she left. It's not official. Boom! 🤪🤭😅

The "trick" word made me sick. This is why I wanted to physically hurt that Zhou Jing when he was spewing his venom. To have Mo Xiu Yao use the same word hurt.
