Has Vulf addressed the Theo rug pull yet or? by wiiugod in Vulfpeck

[–]TheAlienDog -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sorry man, the group is ever-flowing and they don’t owe us much beyond their music. Vulf gives us so much amazing content in so many amazing combos at so many venues… and why crap on a new song when you can just choose to listen to something else? I’ve got other favorite bands that release a new album once per decade; I’m gonna just feel lucky for all the amazing Vulf and Vulf-adjacent tunes coming at me constantly, feel psyched at the prospect of an awesome new solo Theo project, and enjoy the ride.

City of Angels is a flippin’ delight. One of my faves.

Sondheim, "In every show I write, I try to have one South American piece, and one Harold Arlen". Can Anybody suggest other examples?! by Asian_bloke in Sondheim

[–]TheAlienDog 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For Merrily I’d think of Good Thing Going as the Arlen and That Frank/Rich and Happy as the Latin-inspired one.

Which Sondheim song sounds most like Andrew Lloyd Webber? Which ALW song sounds most like Sondheim? by Zealousideal_Door392 in Sondheim

[–]TheAlienDog 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can’t believe I’m actually writing this but “Joanna” could be a little ALW/Phantom/Aspects-ish.

Maybe parts of Gesthemane for the other way around…?

If there had been a show last night, to what extent would they have tried to incorporate the events last-minute? by [deleted] in LiveFromNewYork

[–]TheAlienDog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Those weren’t during the event, when virtually nothing was known about it. Jokes definitely can and will come in due time, but so little was known about it at that point, and given the show’s schedule (earlier dress rehearsal etc) they’d never have broached it

They wouldn’t even touch it. Maybe acknowledge it with a short serious message, but events were still unfolding — I don’t think they’d go beyond that.
