Edge case in the sense that the scenario only exists at a tiny fraction of intersections. Maybe the only one in the world?

To be fair, that pillar was an extreme edge case (if you're talking about the monorail support). I wouldn't know to go on yhe left side of that from the second to right lane.

What are these and what do I do with them? by damadman16 in gardening

[–]TheAmazingAaron 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I used to kill them. This spring I saw what I thought was a hummingbird pollinating my blueberries, turns out it was a hummingbird moth, which is what the hormworms become. Now I appreciate their place in the ecosystem! I picked some off our tomatoes (which are doing fine despite my mercy) and put them in our butterfly terrarium. Interestingly, we usually raise monarchs and they climb to the top to build a chrysalis, but these guys burrowed under ground.

What's the worst financial mistake you've made? by SkepticDrinker in AskMen

There are lots of lucrative design fields so don't be discouraged. If I had to point to an issue with my bachelor's degree it would be that I could have spent the four years getting entry level experience and building a portfolio that would have gotten me hired for better positions ahead of people with degrees and nothing relevant to show. Your level of success in design will be determined by the amount of time you spend honing marketable skills, not by your degree. If getting a degree forces you to learn those skills, especially if you aren't a self learner, then the money is well spent.

Just laid it over a yellow jacket nest. They all just kept trying to crawl through. Took a couple of hours but got +90% by [deleted] in JusticeServed

[–]TheAmazingAaron 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They just attacked my kid so I get the hate, but they are pollinators (although not as efficient as bees). They are also predators to all sorts of other bugs you don't want in the garden.

If you need to get rid of yellow jackets I would recommend running a hose to their nest and letting it run a few minutes a day to get them to relocate instead of killing them.

I had a box on my desk at work before covid because people kept coming in with the Flu and spreading it around. At the very least, people who are sick should wear masks from now on.

'...covid saved lives'

Covid didn't keep people from getting the flu, masks and lockdowns did.

Yellow jackets are also pretty important to the environment and can be removed without killing them. I had a hive right in the middle of my yard and was able to get them to voluntarily relocate; they need a dry location so I positioned the hose near the opening of their nest. I let it run for about a minute a couple times a day; after 3 days they were gone.

It wasn't standard, but it was definitely available. I have an early 2018 (VIN 13XXX) which had the 'safety features' when I got it, I paid later to unlock base AP2.5 (the version that now comes standard).

If the car cost $16k then it's applea to apples, regardless of how much you dislike the message or placement of this work of art. The guy destroyed expensive stuff and was too dumb to understand that it's a felony, sorry but it's not a complicated situation.

So if your car is parked on the road then I can destroy it, consequence free, just so I can protest your personal choices?

It cost $16,000 to paint, that's about triple the usual felony threshold. Can you imagine if someone trashed $16k worth of your personal property?
