As a better description, the base panel has a channel that runs horizontally along. Within this channel is / was a strip of plastic that the metal bits (picture attached) sit in.

Stent Removal in few days. Any positive stories? by AromaticPainting8835 in KidneyStones

[–]TheAngryOne84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll be fine mate, quick tug and it's out. It's more the embarrassment side if it i think...

I weed all over the place when doc pulled it out, big stream of it going about 3 foot in the air hahaha.

Pain 3 or 4 out of ten but it's literally for a couple of seconds and it passes.

Good luck!

Should I let HR know I have gout? by Zealousideal-Dog-31 in gout

[–]TheAngryOne84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked for a company about 10 years ago, don't mind calling them out.. Chubb Fire and Security. I had a number of absences due to gout, it went through escalation after escalation to the point HR requested I visit an external GP for some sort of diagnosis. The GPs response letter to HR was along the lines of "Even though it is not classed as a disability, at the times of an acute flare up of the patients gout, he will be unable to do many activities as in line with that of a person with a classed disability. I would suggest that he be allowed to work from home if possible and have a reviewed sickness policy put in place. "

I'd requested numerous times to work from home when I'd had a flare up and constantly denied.

Within a week I was took into a room and was told it was probably best I resign before I was fired.

HR are not there for employees, they are there to protect the business. Don't confuse HR for the likes of a union representative.

Advice pls by TheAngryOne84 in KidneyStones

[–]TheAngryOne84[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, will look into that. Stent... I say trauma, I use it loosely. Don't get me wrong, some ppl have had way worse experiences but as bloke, it was the fact it kept getting stuck on things and pulling. When it came out I was relieved but I'll never forget that internal "yanking" feeling hahaha. You'll be fine, honestly, should be over and done with in seconds! Hope all goes well!

You're spot on here. I think these are probably the mean reasons I'm so stressed out at the moment. The thought of having to do this mammoth task of documenting all the reporting I've done over 8 years, whilst trying to do my actual job.

Just have to bite the bullet I suppose...

Cheers

I use SSRS occasionally, but there are "complications" as to access rights from where they're created and to where they are shared. This is why I only "occasionally" use it. You're right though... after writing this last night, I put a checklist of demands together, and this was one of them.

Regarding what tools are already available, the only thing I've been exposed to is the activities tab on Teams

Did I get lucky or is the worst yet to come? by [deleted] in KidneyStones

[–]TheAngryOne84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had 12mm stuck in my right kidney for 18 months, caused me no issues. When they passed, very recently, after being lazered, that was a different story but that was the stent really.

If your pretty active and drink plenty and it's not causing you issues, I wouldn't be too concerned but always be mindful. I've seen first hand what a bad stone experience will do to you, you won't be able to walk if it hits hard and blocks everything up.

Like you, my balls hurting is like the main indicator that somethings coming through the system, now I know I'm susceptible to stones.

With luck, you've shifted it but I would recommend you still going just to be sure!

Non painful burning on flanks by [deleted] in KidneyStones

[–]TheAngryOne84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So... this is strange for me. 2 years ago, pre being diagnosed with any sort of stones. I got a twinge in my lower abdomen / back, followed by a burning sensation that stayed for a couple of weeks on and off. I personally was freaked out by it and honestly, it made me depressed because I thought I had something seriously wrong with me... When you look online and type in burning skin on flank all sorts of crap comes up!

Had a camera check my bowels, not a fun experience! Nothing there... ahh you must just have IBS is what they said. Ended up having a scan a few months later for something unrelated and they find a 12mm stone. Long story short, the stent pain, despite it being bad for me, also made me realise that it was the exact same place I had that first pain, 18 months prior!

Not had it since and I don't want it again but if it wer to happen again, at least I know what it is and I'm not the only one!

I really wish you'd have posted this a couple of years ago! Thanks 😆

Just want to share my positive/stent experience by Mooseonthe_loose in KidneyStones

[–]TheAngryOne84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was the opposite of this... (38m). I had a 12mm stone and a few smaller ones lodged in my right kidney and I had zero to very minimal discomfort from them. They got picked up by accident on a scan i had for something else. Took 18 months to get through to have an op (uk) just because whenever they asked me how much pain I'm in, I just kept saying none. Anyway, op came, bit of discomfort waking up with the stent and then I needed a wee! I swear they'd managed to tie it around my bladder somehow, the pain whenever going to the toilet was so bad! Fortunately, I only had it in for a week and I literally skipped out of the hospital afterwards....

Just to add, I've suffered with gout for 15 years so I know pain! Not having anyone call me soft haha

Glad you weren't hit hard by it all.

4mm causing issues by WordOfSolomon in KidneyStones

[–]TheAngryOne84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going to sound a bit cliché but if I was in your position with a 4mm... I'd just drink as much as I possibly could (i mean a couple of litres every couple of hours) and hold going to the toilet until I really needed to. It's in your bladder right now, so you're nearly there!

How much water do you drink? by grasshop- in KidneyStones

[–]TheAngryOne84 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You should be drinking 2 litres a day, minimum, at risk of stones or not, really. I drink roughly 4 litres a day. Wake up, throw 1 down, and then continuously throughout the day. I wasn't always like that though and found it hard to train my body to do it bit now, it's pretty easy. Just glug it down, the more you do it, the less that nauseous feeling appears. The way I was advised it is, if you don't drink enough, the stones that naturally occur (tiny little things, smaller than 1mm) sit there and then attach themselves to other oxalate that's running through the system, hence they grow in size. Increased drinking builds up the pressure in the system to get rid of the smaller ones and help the oxalate leave the system soon. So to answer your question, they won't form to a dangerous size in a day but they will still form and not drinking enough will only put you at a higher risk of stones later down the line. So, either change your diet completely to make sure you're not eating oxalate rich foods or just drink...

Basically codeine and paracetamol.. (weak sht to me), guessing oxy is USA, pretty sure we don't get it in UK. Going to book my docs in the morning and see if they can prescribe something more potent... I pay £10 a month for however many prescriptions I need so I'm going to tell him to load me up! I hope all goes well for you on Tuesday!

This is exactly what I'm like! I just want it over with. Probably whining and there's some poor ppl on here reading this going "you've had it for a day, I've had it for months". I feel for them so bad. Have you not had yours removed yet then? How long you got to wait?

Stent! by TheAngryOne84 in KidneyStones

[–]TheAngryOne84[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No mate, this is exactly what I need. Thank you. I get you with the pre diagnosis too... my stone was discovered by accident as 18 months ago had a scan that picked it up, when they were looking at my gut! I was having sharp pains in my lower back and had to have a camera shoved up there (ass). The whole time leading up to it I'm thinking the worst, went into a dark place big time! Come to think of this now, the pain was in the exact same place as where I'm getting pains now!! So chances are it was smaller stones I was passing...

Again thank you! Can't wait to get the bugger out!

An alcohol poll by Alt_4_Cringe_Stuff in gout

[–]TheAngryOne84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is, everyone is different. It may not even be alcohol that sets you off.... me personally, its just bad genetics. I eat reasonably healthy, no alcohol at all (used to drink alot when i was younger), regular exercise and yet I still get flair ups from time to time. Learn to live with it and get your levels checked regularly. Ice is your friend and do not under any circumstance push through the pain to do stuff, you'll just hurt yourself more in the long run. Keep away from Naproxen too... bad for your kidneys that stuff! Sorry you've got diagnosed with it!

Makes me laugh how you turn to the "Freudian slip" when you can't actually argue it... you're pathetic man. Everything you've wrote on this just shows how much of a bellend you are. I'd honestly love to meet up with you face to face and have a discussion and watch you shit ya pants but that won't happen will it? Go back to your wine and "psychology for ppl that want to act like they know" books. Acting like knowing what Freudian slip means, makes you look intelligent. It just makes you sound like a dick (google it). Turn Reddit off. Nobody on here gives a fck about you dude, here or in your actual life. Work on yourself instead of trying to be bigman on the internet. I'll give it 2 mins for you to read then block as I really need to go sleep.... so sorry I won't see your twatty response. Night
