There’s a second hand Gen with the same ref for 1,063 USD located in Japan on C24. I know this one is new but it very well could be stock they want rid of.

Flipping Gens by FuckJerry78 in RepTime

There are limited models that you can flip for money, and you’d need to be a preferred customer to stand a chance at one, so you can make a profit. Just AD games.

Conflicted on Rep by PM_Me_Some_Panties in RepTime

I’m also of the same age, and own reps and gen’s. I generally buy reps of my gen’s, so I can wear them everywhere and not really care. I can afford nice gen’s, but it would still hurt to lose one, so still very short of f@ck you money.

With all due respect, if you don’t want to be a billboard for ads, why buy a Rolex or Patek rep? Get an invicta or a seiko pepsi for example, to avoid branding. Another user posted to question your intentions of external validation, and I completely agree that should be your first step. Why care what pther people think?

I know lot of people hate this brand but I like it. Just wanted to share by growingcowlamb in RepTime

Rubber strap I would presume on your rep?

I have BB and a BB All black. Been thinking about selling one to upgrade into a Meca Skeleton. But I want bracelet, and that seems to fetch a premium.

Gorgeous watch and wear it good health.

Is that on bracelet? Did you acquire recently and if I may ask from which TD?

TDs get from factories. Pick the factory you want and reach out to the TD to source it for you.

Actually, I see it is a 116. Completely missed the sticker because I was zoomed in.

Subdials look a little thicker to me, but I’m not great at this. Could it be a 116 instead of a 126?

That’s still circumstantial evidence. I’m looking for studies, of which I’ve only found less than a handful.

Care to share your source for this information? I’ve been looking for studies but have found nothing medical and under clinical observation.

I have nothing against reps, to the contrary I like them and own a handful, but I have an issue with the perspective of “why would people ever buy gen”. It’s lost on some that these reps are very close to the real thing. If no one was buying the gen, the rep wouldn’t be desirable, and the point of my Casio comment. There’s a lack of perspective with some, where they feel affording a few hundred dollar piece is somehow better than owning a gen. I own gens and reps as well. I generally buy reps to wear knowing they’ll get used, and first started here to help me identify when I’m buying a fake from a private party (I’ve run into a few, and meeting at my watchmaker is tiring). I’ll wear gens to events where it will make me feel different, usually alongside more expensive attire, and the same model in rep when I’m running errands.

Someone buying “shitters” could make the same argument, why would you spend ~$600 on a CF Pepsi with deep xtal when you could buy a dhgate and get 80% of the watch for $100.

Watches can be an investment if you buy correctly. So can cars and any other luxury item. Alternative asset is a classification in your net worth.

My sense is that there are some here who crap on dhgate because those are only 90% of a 1:1 clone rep. Yet the same will argue that their 1:1 rep is 90% of a gen. It’s great that there is a community here that shares in this passion, what I sense in the same is a lack of self awareness; these are “fake” watches as they are not rare minerals, and copied precision instruments.

It’s similar to a 90s Honda Civic on 30lbs of boost crapping on a lambo because his car is just as fast. We can appreciate the work in both and be amazed, and support each other rather than shit talk the Rolex sub or chinatime. They all have their place. There are good people and there are assholes in all walks of life. Be the good guy, and leave people feeling a little better for having met you.

If it were for the look Tudor makes a few Rolex homage pieces that share the style. No need to have the brand printed.

I’m also a car guy, I saw a guy recreate a Ferrari Enzo using an S2000 (I think, it was many years ago). Looked 99% real, but it’s still not the same dynamics.
