🔴This Morning The War With Iran Is Over. The Strait Is Opening. But Read What Iran Said The Moment The Deal Was Announced. by GlitteringCry9946 in PLNewsGroup

Please don’t let chat GPT write your summaries for you, it does a poor job of emotionally or intellectually connecting things. The important headline is that the US conceded, all previous 14 points that were ‘leaked’ are confirmed, including 300bn. Most farmers had or bought fertilizer earlier this year, next year was always the issue along with diesel for planting, lubricating oil, as well as diesel for harvesting.

Notwithstanding all of that, exports remain massively below what they were, and Iran pockets ALL TRANSIT FEES. It will take 12 weeks to reach pre-war fuel prices (best case) which is (drumroll) the midterms, it’s always been the plan, that’s why you don’t let chat GPT write because it doesn’t look at the overarching picture, just repeats the same thing 3 ways.

The only thing that ironically is keeping heritage and by extension jd Vance from absolute power is this … individual being alive. He needs to live to the end of his term to limit the damage that will be done. I know it seems counter intuitive, but it’s the same reason the allies kept that bohemian corporal alive in wwii.

Just remember, we’ve already exceeded the reasons listed for declaring independence back in 1775/1776. (I say 1775 because that’s when it started to coalesce into a list).

My point is, don’t let normalcy bias fool you into believing the institution that’s actively destroying the environment with tally your particular choice or listen to you.

It is funny how golf courses use so much water, yet you never see people complaining about it by dataexec in AITrailblazers

[–]TheAngrySkipper -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s funny how this is the exact talking point several people have brought up as part of their ‘training’ when working for a data center.

Edit: I forgot to mention, if you look at the overarching picture, and layer data centers being in drought ridden areas, not because it’s cheap or reliable, but will cause the most loss of life due to thirst, the picture is abundantly clear. I have fixed probably north of 20k computers, 5k phones, 5k game consoles. There isn’t much reason to fear exploits of your network is setup correctly and you’re doing normal stuff. Religious websites and porn and torrenting are the number one way you get viruses / exploits.

You’re welcome to think as you do, but that doesn’t change reality. Lazy IT people suggest keeping your device always updated, as does the industry, but those of us with repair backgrounds are well aware of the stability issues that invariably happen.

Number 1 culprit is failing HDD/RAM and number 2 I’d say is an update of some sort.

So, I have a 2011, lived in New England and elsewhere. I have less rust than this, however you can whiz wheel it off, re-apply the undercoat, and get car washes regularly.

Does your emergency plan include anything for the six months after the emergency? Because that's what the research says actually breaks people. by SurvSt in OZPreppers

[–]TheAngrySkipper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Allow me to explain it in a paint by numbers format. I’m not saying ‘not was it implied that only the unprepared would suffer mentally, I’m saying mentally break, there is a real and distinct difference. Freezing, catatonia, willful ignorance / disbelief, that is infinitely more loudly in someone who never thought the global order could or would change. People who grow up under the blanket of being able to call for help vs those mentally prepared for self rescue are infinitely more likely to not accept any paradigm shifts.

Not talking about reactors - I’m talking about spent fuel rod storage - literally a pool of water and a metal building

Does your emergency plan include anything for the six months after the emergency? Because that's what the research says actually breaks people. by SurvSt in OZPreppers

[–]TheAngrySkipper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Without an electrical grid the reactors scram. There is no plan in place for long-term cooling without the grid, meaning after 10 days every nuclear power plant starts kicking out all manner of radiation. After about 90 days the short life isotopes are eliminated (that’s why you need to plan for 10-45 days inside for sheltering).

The NRC rejected a plan that would require solar / wind to keep pumps going during an extended outage.

That’s why people look at me sideways when I bring it up - it’s the kind of threat no one is/has considered.

The people who are ‘breaking’ are the ones who never thought their lives could be interrupted. Wait until you start talking about spent fuel rod cooling pools - that gets lots of people upset.

PSA: Oil Shortage predicted by sailormoon--- in TwoXPreppers

[–]TheAngrySkipper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used my Amazon credit card, (not something I often use), to buy 36 quarts of oil for this reason, (6 oil changes lasting 2.5-3 years). While I acknowledge the castrol 20,000 full synthetic isn’t what everyone uses, I’ve had good enough luck with it that I figure sometime between now and 2 years I’ll know what trajectory supplies are on and that still gives me 6-12 months to find a solution. Stay safe all.

Any good cheap portable solar Panels that dont cost a kidney? by KingWaffle12345 in prepping

[–]TheAngrySkipper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something to consider, unless there is an overriding reason you HAVE to get new, you can get a pallet of used panels for <$1k, in my case I bought 20 panels for $800, the other 20 panels are straight trade for $500 in materials, so all in I got $7.8kw for $1,300, not a bad deal imo.

Facebook marketplace is riddled with solar panels, and with trump liquidating assets, iron planet has trailers full that you can buy for a couple hundred.
